EURASHE QUALITY ASSURANCE COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE IN THE HAGUE
EURASHE together with  H otelschool The Hague  is organizing  Quality Assurance Community of Practice event on 12 September in The Hague, The Netherlands  on development of quality culture, the role of leadership and people engagement.


The event will be preceded by a Networking session on 11 September from 7:00 to 11:00 pm at the  Skotel The Hague .

The event is free of charge for the members of EURASHE .

Registration closes on 6 September.

PEER LEARNING ACTIVITY ON SHORT-CYCLE HIGHER EDUCATION (SCHE) IN PORTO
EURASHE together with the  Council of Portuguese Polytechnics, the  Polytechnic Institute of Porto, and the  Portugal Ministry of Higher Education and Science is organizing a  Peer learning activity on short-cycle higher education (SCHE) on 19-20 September in Porto, Portugal.
 
The event will give an opportunity for 80 local and international participants from institutions, governments, quality assurance agencies to exchange views and experience on the following topics:
  • Mission, role and objectives of SCHE, reflecting world of work and specific learners’ groups needs;
  • Pedagogy with emphasis on practical aspects, work-based learning and cooperation with the world of work;
  • Quality assurance in SCHE, approach, tools and impact on recognition within higher education.

The event is free of charge but the places are limited.

BECOME A PART OF EURASHE BOARD OR COMMITTEE FOR STRATEGIC ADVICE

EURASHE announces a call to complete the rest of the mandate of resigned Board member Alan Sherry and seeks nominations of experts for its Committee for Strategic Advice (CSA).




  • Board member

EURASHE full members are invited to nominate candidate for the vacant Board member position. The Board member is expected to act as described within EURASHE Statutes, represent EURASHE and actively contribute to the policy agenda as well within the Working groups. Therefore, follow one or more topics within the EURASHE strategy (Mission and Role of PHE; Relevant & Flexible Teaching & Learning; Strengthening Regional Engagement; Engagement in Applied Research & Innovation; Promoting PHE Quality).

  • Committee for Strategic Advice experts and representatives

The CSA is composed of representatives of the world of work, students, regional network and institutions, and policy experts. Its role is to enhance and deepen EURASHE’s interaction and communication with stakeholders, map and understand external challenges and opportunities and build a more solid basis for EURASHE long-term strategies and priorities, as well as to contribute to relevant European policies. EURASHE invites its members, as well as other stakeholders to nominate candidates. The current CSA members are invited to consider their further engagement, as well.

The deadline to send applications for positions opened in both of the EURASHE structures: 30 September 2019.

  • 9 October 2019 - WEXHE project consultative workshop on Work-based learning and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education in Brussels, Belgium

  • 10 October 2019 the 6th UAS Leadership Forum, Brussels, Belgium on civic and democratic competences, institutional autonomy and social role of UAS.

HAVE YOUR SAY ABOUT APPRENTICESHIPS IN EUROPE
EURASHE invites to take part in  two surveys  of the following projects about apprenticeships and contribute to the high-quality apprenticeships creation in Europe:


EURASHE is involved in ApprenticeTrack project which is developing a digital management tool to support Professional Higher Education Institutions and employers to offer and administer high-quality apprenticeships. The project now seeks input to its 3-minute long survey to improve its apprenticeship management tool and best fit the future users expectations (PHE institutions, employers and students). You can take part in the survey  here until 31 August.

  • SPRINT

The SPRINT project, which aims to create a European Quality Framework for Internships, will be launching a 60-day open commenting phase on 2nd September 2019 on the CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) that the project’s consortium drafted together with direct participants. This CEN (European Committee for Standardization) document identifies quality criteria for internships and will be published at the beginning of 2020.

2019 EUROPEAN QUALITY ASSURANCE FORUM IN BERLIN
EURASHE, together with the European University Association (EUA), the European Students' Union (ESU) and the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), is organising the 2019 European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF) "Supporting societal engagement of higher education" , which will take place at the Technische Universität Berlin in Berlin, Germany, on 21-23 November 2019 .

The EQAF provides a platform for discussion, professional development and exchange of experiences among the main stakeholders in Quality Assurance (QA). This year's forum will explore how external and internal QA processes can support engaged higher education institutions in developing activities that meet the expectations and needs of all stakeholders and demonstrate their value to society.

The deadline for early bird registration is 7 October.

PROFESSOR FROM LAHORE UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES AWARDED WITH PRESTIGIOUS CHARLES WALLACE FELLOWSHIP
We are proud to announce that Dr. Hassan Mohy-ud-Din from our member institution the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has been awarded the 2019 Charles Wallace Fellowship by the British Council in Pakistan. The fellowship aims to enable mid-career academics to widen their professional knowledge, skills and international linkages.

Established in 1985, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is situated in the city of Lahore, the cultural capital of Pakistan. It has been at the forefront of educational excellence for over 3 decades and is among the leading universities in South Asia.

LUMS joined EURASHE as an affiliate member in 2017.

APPLY NOW FOR THE LIFELONG LEARNING AWARDS
In 2016, the Lifelong Learning Platform launched the Lifelong Learning Awards to celebrate creative and inclusive practices. The aim of the Lifelong Learning Award is to give visibility to innovative practices taking place all over Europe in order to attract public attention on lifelong learning as well as to inspire new practices and policies.

For its 4th edition, LLLP welcomes applications on the topic “ Learning democracy, values and participation“. This broad theme is declined in the activities and the categories for the awards. The aim of the LLLAwards in fact is to recognise and award three initiatives in three different categories, as follows:
