Thanks to BC Men in Nursing!
Once again, the BC Nurses' Union (BCNU) Men in Nursing caucus members have dedicated funds raised during Movember to support EVA BC!
Men in Nursing Chair, Walter Lumamba, presented EVA BC's Office Manager Habiba Rashid with a cheque for an incredible $2,000 at the recent BC Collaborates Training Forum. Our sincere thanks to Men in Nursing for everything they do to be more than bystanders!

As programs are aware, Phase 3 of the Services to Victims of Crime initiative involved the release of a draft procurement plan for consultation. The Community Safety and Crime Prevention Branch of the Ministry of Justice released a Services to Victims of Crime Project Update on November 18th, 2015. The update included information on the procurement process as it impacts Victim Service and Violence Against Women Programs.
Some highlights from the update and an accompanying Q&A are:
The Ministry is continuing with its regular Program Application process for fiscal year 2016-17 contracts for victim service and violence against women programs. Contract terms for 2016-17 will be 16 months, running from April 1st, 2016 to July 31st, 2017. Program Application packages have been sent to contracted service providers.
In response to feedback from service providers, the Ministry has decided not to proceed with a new funding formula or with the creation of new service areas at this time.
The Services to Victims of Crime Project Update, as well as an accompanying Q&A, can be found at
Board member Jan Seelinger presented Tracy with a token of EVA BC's appreciation.
A highlight of EVA BC's recent Annual General Meeting was an appreciation for the organization's founding Executive Director, Tracy Porteous.
