April 2018

Dear Community Member,

April is National Humor Month - it's not a coincidence that the month began with April Fool's Day! National Humor month was created to heighten public awareness of the therapeutic value of humor.
From www.humormonth.com: "Laughter and joy - the benchmarks of humor - lead to improved well-being, boosted morale, increased communication skills, and an enriched quality of life... Humor as a tool to lift ailing spirits is an established notion supported by scientific research. The curative power of laughter and its ability to relieve debilitating stress and burnout may indeed be one of the great medical discoveries of our times."

So, see a funny movie, read a humorous book and/or spend time with a friend who makes you laugh and you will improve your health and well-being. And don't forget to return the favor -- it feels good to bring laughter to others as well.

Happy Humor Month!
