What have we been up to this past year?
Check out some highlights:
Computer Program
Providing chrome books to students for distance learning

Over 11,000 chrome books have been distributed to date, beginning the day after the announcement was made that schools were closing due to COVID-19.
Desk Program
Desks, trays and chairs provided to students in need as socioeconomically disadvantaged and homeless numbers rise as a result of the pandemic

Over 300 students served to date, thanks to community volunteers who helped distribute from the warehouse and deliver directly to students.
Special thanks for both this program and the computer program go to Laurel Priesz, the amazing teacher at Canyon High School who brought these programs to WiSH to benefit her students - and eventually all district students, and to district Director of Technology Services Jon Carrino and his team for managing the distribution of all the chrome books!
Wellness Program
Supporting on-campus wellness centers as a student resource

WiSH has established/funded 14 wellness centers on campuses district wide.
Our biggest goal last year was to respond quickly and address immediate need.
We were VERY busy! Here's the short list:


  • First, to ensure program continuation through the pandemic, WiSH moved to a restructured, 100% volunteer organization to better equip ourselves to meet the needs of district students. This enabled our very talented and dedicated Board of Directors to work creatively and use their incredible skills to great benefit.
  • WiSH teamed with College Click to provide Virtual College Tours for students unable to visit campuses in 2020, and offered valuable, Interactive Webinars with a College Counselor to help navigate the changing climate in college entrance requirements during the pandemic.
  • WiSH held the first SCV Virtual Talent Show, providing some needed distraction during lockdown and a way to support our community while raising needed funding.
  • WiSH is currently working with the district to provide Vital Services to House- and Food-insecure Students and their families.
  • We are beginning to resume our regular funding of student programs, focusing on STEAM with an emphasis on the Arts. Click here to see the broad range of programs we support.
