Local conservation is a year-round
job. Fortunately, we can celebrate the year's conservation efforts, success, and progress in the summer. June through October is when EVLT gets to show local adults and children the contributions our community has made to protect our lands, recreational opportunities, and wildlife. These interactions are what bring EVLT's mission to life.
In this month's newsletter, you will find EVLT's newly released
annual report that includes information about two of the largest conservation projects to date, a snapshot summary of 2017, and a complete
list of our outstanding donors who are the foundation of conservation in Eagle County.
Below you will also find information about EVLT's newest conservation project and an invitation to our wonderful annual event,
Farm to Fork. We hope you will join us for a night of outstanding food, dancing, and celebration of our protected lands. In addition,
Cow Patty Bingo is less than a month away, so don't forget to secure your
deeds before they sell out!
All of this is made possible by supporters like you. Thank you for your dedication to protecting the lands we love...
forever
.

Annual Report
2017 was an exceptional year for land conservation. Accredited land trusts now protect 19 million acres nationwide, an area larger than the state of West Virginia.
Here at home, in partnership with this community, EVLT has achieved goals and reached milestones far beyond our own expectations. Last year, your support helped EVLT permanently protect 3,369 acres of wildlife habitat, 2.5 miles of public river access, and 1,540 acres of public land in Eagle County...

Get Your Poop in a Group! Cow Patty Bingo Deeds on Sale Now
As you know, Cow Patty Bingo deeds are more than just a bingo chip. Each deed is an estate on the Cow Patty Bingo arena that directly funds the protection of open space, wildlife, and the character of our county. Did you know that a $100 donation to EVLT protects an area the size of a football field in Eagle County? Conveniently, you can now buy five deeds for $100 (the normal price of four deeds), which will help EVLT protect an acre of land. On top of that, if ol' Bessie poops in your square during the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo, you win $1,000. It's that simple. You don't need to be present to win, but we hope you'll join us on July 28th at the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo for Cow Patty Bingo, live music, games, rides, and family fun.

The property is attractive to private land developers due to its location and housing potential, and without a conservation easement, there was a possibility that it could be sold for this purpose if it was put on the market in the future"... Read the Article
...70 local kids have learned about conservation this summer?
In partnership with Walking Mountains Science Center, EVLT has taught six children's programs in 2018. Each program takes place on one of EVLT's conserved properties and focuses on topics ranging from protecting wildlife to the [fun] philosophy of "forever". This year, participants have learned about giving wildlife their "personal space" and how conservation easements allow them to "find space."
