New video details the impact and importance of land conservation in Eagle County.
In planning last month's landowner workshop in collaboration with Colorado
Cattleman's Agricultural Land Trust, I was reminded of the great camaraderie that exists between so many land trusts around the country. Cattleman's is a statewide conservation leader and they went out of their way to provide their endorsement of EVLT and to advance the cause of local land conservation.

Landowners learned how conservation easements are a tool for landowners, helping them conserve what makes Colorado great, including its rich agricultural heritage, scenic vistas, and important habitat.

Our new video highlights this impact and importance of land conservation to our local community. Please share it with your friends and family.

The workshop was a great success thanks to the many landowners who attended and to Cattleman's and the other presenters noted here.

Most importantly, I was reminded that EVLT could not have accomplished so much already in our community without the support of partners like these and because of people like you who are  committed to conserving our cherished lands , waters, and way of life.  Thank you for being part of it.

Sincerely,
Jim Daus

Workshop participants engaged in conservation discussion
EVLT, in Collaboration with  Colorado Cattlemen's Agricultural Land Trust, hosted a landowner and manager conservation workshop in Gypsum, CO on January 20th.

The workshop provided an overview of conservation easements and associated tax benefits, as well as new state water efficiency regulations. The workshop also gave landowners an opportunity to ask questions, express concerns, and speak with representatives of three different land trusts and a  Tax Credit Connections representative. Join the Keep it Colorado Coalition to Reauthorize the Lottery in 2018

For the last 30 years, the Colorado Lottery has provided more than $3 Billon to Colorado's land conservation and recreation projects through the Conservation Trust Fund, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO). EVLT depends on funding from these organizations to conserve the land and resources of Eagle County. For example, GOCO was a vital partner in conserving Hardscrabble Ranch in 2017. Reauthorizing the Colorado Lottery in 2018 means reauthorizing this important funding source for the protection of Colorado's land and wildlife.
