As we enter the last month of 2016 today, I'm thinking about growth, transitions, and, quite honestly, how the heck it's already December! Despite the desire to slow down and move inward when it's dark by 5 p.m., very often this month we are doing just the opposite. Rushing to and from, what sometimes feels like, an endless list of events and tasks. Many of us setting unrealistic expectations and goals for ourselves (and for others) only to be disappointed when it doesn't happen the way we have planned.
But, how about pressing the PAUSE button... to reflect, to remind ourselves of what we have accomplished, to realize how we've grown. Anyone else up for a few conscious breaths and setting aside some time to accept and appreciate our own unfolding and evolution? To just be wherever we are... at our desk, on our yoga mat, in our car... for even 3 deep breaths in the moment... thinking, feeling, and being ENOUGH. As I often do, I look today to Mark Nepo for inspiration...
"Very often, we define ourselves by what we want or dream of. I want to be an actor or a musician or president or a grandmother. I dream of being famous, of going down in history, of being a hero or a heroine. Yet when our lives shape us differently, we often think we have failed, that we are settling for less, because we weren't good enough to become or have what we wanted.
Certainly, as we experience our limitations, this sometimes feels true. Yet even through our limitations, we EVOLVE rather than fail, the way a caterpillar becomes a chrysalis becomes a butterfly, and the succession of life's trials is precisely the unfolding we need to find our bliss and rightful place in the order of things.
"
Always evolving....
Namaste,
Kristi
