Date: Tuesday October 11th Time: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Location: Truckee Town Hall - Council Chambers (10183 Truckee Airport Road)
At a downtown neighborhood meeting we hosted on Monday, some homeowners made clear that they don't want an emergency warming center in their neighborhood, especially with a long-term permit. We expect this group will express this at the Town Council meeting Tuesday. See page 27 & 28 of the Staff Report to see their specific complaints.
We need at least 15 supporters willing to speak if necessary and 15 more there as a positive presence.
Please sign up to if you can come in support. If you're willing to speak, note that in the comment section. I will contact you directly on Monday to confirm details.

If you can attend but don't want to speak, or if you can't attend, please submit a public comment via email. Please thank the Town Council & Planning Department for their support and reminding them of this program's value. Your personal experience at the EWC or with our homeless neighbors is most compelling. Note that the neighbors' complaints are based on the rising numbers of homeless in the nation, our state, our country, and the Truckee/Tahoe region....not our operation of the EWC. Also, note that comparisons with the South lake Warm Room are not valid, since it was open 7 days a week all winter, while we were open only 25 nights
