Dear Morehouse School of Medicine Faculty and Staff,

We are thrilled to announce some exciting updates to your vacation benefits, reflecting our commitment to supporting your well-being and work-life balance. At MSM, we recognize how hard you work and the importance of taking time to rest and recharge. You deserve it!

Vacation Policy: Time Away from Work Reimagined

What’s Changing?

We are enhancing our vacation policy to better align with your needs. Here's what you can look forward to:

  • More Time Off: We’re increasing the number of vacation days across the board, giving you more opportunities to relax and unwind.
  • No More 90-Day Wait: New hires will no longer need to wait 90 days to use their paid vacation days—start planning your time off sooner!
  • Advance Vacation Days: You can now use up to five vacation days in advance.
  • Encouraging Time Off: In FY2025, we’ll be phasing out vacation carryover to encourage you to fully enjoy your time away each year.

*NOTE: The new vacation accrual policy is effective as of September 22, 2024. Your new accruals will begin from this date, and the updated vacation hours will be reflected in your October 4, 2024 paycheck. To view the most accurate record of your available vacation hours, please log into Kronos on MSMConnect.
