🏡 New Resource for Homeowners: Resilient Home Fund

The Resilient Home Fund is now officially live, offering homeowners a new resource to help navigate the financial side of rebuilding and creating more wildfire-resilient homes.

The online tool is designed to help homeowners explore options and better understand resources that may support resilient rebuilding—particularly valuable as families across Pacific Palisades and Malibu make consequential decisions about what and how to rebuild.

🌊 California Coastal Cleanup Day in Malibu

Join the City of Malibu and Heal the Bay for California Coastal Cleanup Day at Surfrider Beach and help protect one of our community’s most treasured natural resources.

This free, family-friendly event welcomes volunteers of all ages. To help make the cleanup zero-waste, bring a reusable bucket or bag, garden gloves, a filled reusable water bottle and sun protection. Walking, biking, carpooling or public transit is encouraged.

🏠 Up to $49,600 Available for Seismic Retrofits — Apply by Sept. 30

The California Residential Mitigation Program (CRMP) is offering grants of up to $49,600 to help eligible owners of 5–10 unit, multi-story residential properties complete ground-floor seismic retrofits.

The Earthquake Multi-Unit Retrofit (EMR) Grant Program can help offset the cost of required retrofit work and strengthen vulnerable multifamily buildings.

Join the West Basin Municipal Water District for a Firescaping Workshop focused on practical ways to create more wildfire-resilient landscapes while using water wisely.

Residents can learn strategies to help protect homes and properties from wildfire, including thoughtful plant selection, landscape design and defensible-space practices.

🔥 Disaster Recovery Forum: Financing & Rebuilding Resources for Wildfire Survivors

Homeowners rebuilding after the Los Angeles wildfires are invited to the California Disaster Recovery Forum on Monday, October 5, from 2–7 PM at the California Science Center.

Hosted by California MBA in partnership with the State of California, the event will connect survivors one-on-one with professionals who can help with financing, insurance, permitting and rebuilding. Attendees can also learn about CalHFA’s new $100 million Disaster Rebuilding Assistance Program, which may help eligible homeowners lower construction-loan costs through state-funded interest-rate buydowns.
