Inside: Take a Dive, Karaoke Night, Trivia Tallies, Profile Update Time, More
EYC Newsblast, January 15 - 26, 2020
Greetings, EYCers!

Our January calendar remains in flux as we anticipate the kitchen floor repairs and the necessary closures that will be part of that process. As of this note, plans are still being finalized but we expect the work to begin on Monday, January 27 , and to be wrapped up by February 11, sooner if possible. We will do everything possible to minimize disruption, but the bar will remain open and meetings can go on as scheduled -- and keep an eye out for pop-up events along the way, in this Newsblast, on the bulletin boards, and in table tent announcements in the bar. We'll do our best to keep everyone apprised of all the goings-on, any cancellations -- and especially any additions. Meantime, your favorite yacht club remains a great spot to spend time, enjoy a meal or a drink with your friends. See you there!
Join the EYC 'Green Team' for a fascinating presentation from former Environmental Committee Co-Chair Phil Renaud this Friday evening at 7 p.m. Phil, who now helms the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution's Ocean Twiling Zone Program, exploring the mesopelagic, a vast, dimly lit region 200 to 1000 meters beneath the ocean's surface, one of Earth's final frontiers. Free, but space is limited so please RSVP .
New: Karaoke Night Next Tuesday!
Wanna be a star? You can shine at EYC Karaoke Night, upcoming next Tuesday, January 21, 6 - 9 pm in the bar. No cover, just bring your talent. Or your enthusiasm. Or whatever. Just come and join the fun at this new pop-up event.

Keep your eyes on this space for even more great pop-up reasons to head to EYC!

Thursday Trivia Updates
After a long summer diet of no trivia, fourteen teams came out, hungry for a challenge, and feasted on a yummy trivia contest. Newcomers  Drinkin’ and Thinkin’  tore into the first round like they were at a Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest and missed a perfect score by only a point and a half!  ISmile Kindred Spirit  and  Gray Zone  were only half a point behind, tied for second. In the second round,  Drinkin’ and Thinkin’  bit off more than they could chew, and just couldn’t digest the questions.  ISmile  ate everyone’s lunch, winning the second round, with  Kindred Spirit Jib & Tonic , and  Mile Marker 22 ½  tied for second. When the final results were tallied, defending champs  Jib & Tonic  took third,  Kindred Spirit  were in second, and  ISmile  packed the win into a picnic basket and ... sorry, ran out of food metaphors. See you on Thursday!
