Dear Friends,
"Something about the ocean,
and I'm lost in love again."
Our first EYC Winter Retreat is in the books and I think everyone who attended would agree that it was a tremendous success.
So many great memories: bocce ball on the beach, Hamilton sing-alongs, the "Kidnapper," Kumja, side quests, Juliet's crazy ghost stories, morning devotionals on the dock, Battle Toes, candy salad, and of course, the blanket that gives the divine mystery a shape.
This trip was tons of fun while also being deeply spiritual and a intense bonding experience for our community. I think it will have a powerful affect on the direction of our youth program in the future.
I want to thank Ed Sharp and Tristin Carpenter for serving as our brave chaperones. I really enjoyed sharing this experience with you and look forward to having you join us again. I also want to thank all the young people who risked trying something new. You were endlessly cheerful and always game for everything I threw at you. I was especially moved by how much you clearly care for one another. You all make this job a real joy.
See you down the road Trinity Center. I think it safe to say that we'll be back.
Your friend in Christ,
Justin+
