EYE SAFETY

Imagine for a moment that you have lost your ability to see, or that your sight has been significantly impaired. It is a scary thought…

Reducing the risk of eye injuries at the source, following safe work procedures and wearing eye protection will decrease potential eye injuries.

MSA has collaborated with EyeSafe Sask. with a program that can save your employees up to 40% off prescription safety eyewear. Click here for more information: Member Discounts

WorkSafe Sask recently created a publication on Eye Injury prevention with many tips on how to prevent an eye injury. Click here to download a copy: WorkSafe Eye Injury Prevention Manual

Eye injuries are generally preventable, but what happens if you get something in your eyes at work? Last year one of the most common OHS contraventions issued to MSA members was: OHS Regulation 21-12 Eye Flushing Equipment – The employer or contractor shall provide, at readily accessible locations, approved equipment to flush the eyes of workers.

To learn more about Eyewash station requirements I invite you to watch our recent webinar on this topic: Webinars

MSA Safety Advisors provide on-site consulting services and can assist your company to meet this regulation and help keep your worker's eyes safe. If you require our no-fee consulting assistance contact us at: [email protected]
