[December 18, 2019] This is a reminder that the deadline to apply for the Hawai'i Youth Delegation to EYE20 in Maryland/Washington D.C. next July, is this Friday, December 20, 2019.
Please follow up with your interested high school youth and be sure that they get their applications in. If any interested youth is unable to meet this deadline, please contact Sybil Nishioka at firstname.lastname@example.org. We want to be able to offer this wonderful experience to all the youth in the Diocese. With time running short, applications can be scanned or a photo taken of it and emailed to Sybil. They can also be dropped off at the Diocesan Support Center at 229 Queen Emma Square.
EYE20 will be taking place July 7-11, 2019, at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. The Hawai'i delegation will also be performing community service in the area following EYE20, and projected travel dates are July 6 &15, 2020.
Youth participants must be currently enrolled high school students in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade during the 2019/20 school year. They must be a minimum of 15 years old by July 7, 2020, and no older than 19 by that same date. (Current 14 year-olds will be eligible to attend EYE23 as EYE is on a three-year cycle.)
Please do not let the cost of attending discourage anyone from applying. Scholarships are available, and there will be a Diocesan fundraiser.
