It feels as if we are roaring into 2026, pedal to the metal, full speed ahead! This week, some of us will be traveling to Yuma to participate in the Desert Lily show. We will be representing both Grace/Q’nique longarm machines as well as BERNINA/bernette machines on Friday and Saturday this week. Fear not: the shop here at 9857 West Bell Road will be open for your business as usual! Any special pricing deals will be valid at the show as well as at the shop, so no concerns there. We’re just trying to reach out to an area with very few machine-access shops in the area. Our Janome machines will also be available at the shop, and they are on display for you to try out and check out. The holiday specials are now a product of 2025 and not available as free gifts, but, to be sure, there will be other things available for you!

Like the BERNINA foot of the month, at 25% off MSRP! This foot is especially great for you make leather or faux bags, project bags, coin purses, etc. and love to sew with the clear vinyl or leather or cork. This foot is the #51 and is made with 3 rollers on the foot bottom to glide over sticky or grabby type fabrics. Your sewing will now have no stick, no drag as you sew. Full speed ahead.

SVQ and BERNINA will also be featuring some special prices for your purchase of the B480 at under $2500, the b64 serger with airlock threading at less than $1200, and the B325 at the low, low price of $999!!!!! The B325 is the newest version, Gen 2, of this workhorse, easy traveling, lightweight machine. For the size and price, it’s a bargain BERNINA for anyone! We even have a carrying case and trolley in a choice of two colors for you to choose

Grace Co. is offering 10% off the Q’nique 16X machine and bundle packages to give you more value with the right frame pairing! Confidently create your own quilts from start to finish-----you can certainly DO THIS! To hold your fabric firmly on the frame, save time and effort with your layers, get the Quilt Clips this month at 20% off, and see what a difference using them will make for you.

For those of you who purchased the QCT automation, and the Gold Card, you may want to join Joyce Blowers and SVQ Lynn in March for a few excellent classes!!! Space will be limited, so sign and pay early to reserve your spots. March 18-19 classes are beginner-friendly, introducing you to the fundamentals of automation, and will be HANDS-ON for students. March 20 OR 21 (identical classes) will concentrate on  Gold Card Features, HANDS-ON at the frame. Both days will be full days of information and access for those attending. Contact the shop for more info. and supplies to bring. Lunches will be provided at the shop so you stay in the groove of the class with your classmates!

A new class for you, that I’ve not talked much about, is on Friday, 1-9-26 9:30-2:30 with Laurie W. at the helm. It is Tool Shed Plus Embroidery Software…and there is a free version available for you which has more limited capacity and saving ability. Laurie will explain what all this means, and the code/cards are available. Before class starts, you should have either the Tool Shed Plus installed and activated on your laptop, or if you’re going to use the free version, have that installed and make sure it opens before class starts. Note: we DO have the software here for your purchase. Check at the BERNINA desk.

On Saturday, 1-10-26, we have a Flying Geese Pouch class with Lynn M. for you. There are different, graduating sizes for you to make, and for sure, you will learn to easily cut flying geese and insert zippers an easy way! Plus, the bags are really cute and functional. Win-Win.

Open Sew is Monday, 1-12 and Open Embroidery is 1-13-26.. These classes are filling quickly, so sign up and pay to reserve your spot. If you’re new to the valley, these are monthly opportunities for you to work on your own projects in a room full of friendly and usually chatty sewists. No instructor is available on Monday, but there will be one for the embroidery open should you need guidance!

The following week, we’re offering a two-day bag class, AKA:  BAG CAMP, Jan. 14 and 15. Here, you choose the bag you want to make from the myriad of patterns we have in stock for you from byAnnie, plus the hardware, handles, vinyl , leather and fabrics; bring your machine, and let’s start cutting and sewing. Lynn M. has vast experience with the byAnnie patterns, and she will guide you through the process. Most students start and finish at least one bag over the two days, so more pedal to the metal for you!

That is how we start 2026 this year! If you have ideas for us, or you’re just itching to teach a class, come in and talk with us. We have a large classroom with super-sturdy tables and comfy padded sewing chairs for you, and we hope you feel that we have a lot to offer. The Az./ New Mexico Shop Hop begins in Feb., and we have a few passports and magazines with free patterns left for your purchase ($13.95) so you can hit the ground running when the hop officially starts. Our fabric has yet to arrive, but we will have panels, kits and more available for you, but come early if possible! We have our pattern picked out, and we’re ready to roll as soon as the fabric arrives, but I think you’re really going to love our Az. panel. I also have gotten in some of the New Mexico panels for you, just in case your heart falls there but you won’t be able to travel there!

And save the date for the Rusty Barn/Fairgrounds show Jan. 29-31 this year. We will be there with blue bells on, to show you all that Grace Co. has to offer. And, as usual, I will be doing the True Cut ruler-ergo cutter set, blade sharpeners (yes, they really DO work!), and more, while Lynn and Jerek team up to handle the heavy load of Q’nique longarm machines with Grace frames. These are fabulous units, especially for the prices, and can be “customized” to fit what you need and want in a longarm quilter that absolutely won’t break the bank! As usual, we will be in the smaller, more comfy building (where the classes are held and you don’t feel herded through the aisles!), so be sure to come see us and check out what we can put together for you to suit all your quilting needs!

Special fabric for the week will be batiks, at 20% off when you give us the code GOBATIK. Code of GOBATIK is good both in-shop and online, and we have an entire long wall of batiks from which you can choose. So start that batik stash, or bring to class for a bag or two and save 20% per yard while doing it. Hope to see you soon, remember that Lynn, Darcie, Shelby and I will be in Yuma the end of the week. Stay safe and have FUN! Oh, and finally, Murfee said to wish you a very Happy 2026, full of good health and cheer, and to tell you that he had a blast running his fool head off for two full days, his paws to the pedal and positive as can be, the wind at his back and through his hair!
