At VBR's recent Membership Meeting we recognized the loss of two former REALTOR® members: Bob Jamar and John Brian Warnke. | |
Joe "Bob" Jamar joined the Vail Board of REALTORS® in 1998 and enjoyed many years as a Broker with Slifer, Smith and Frampton Real Estate. Bob had a rich and full life beginning with his boyhood years growing up during the depression in Texas. He joined the Air Force where he became a pilot and flight instructor for young pilots who were training to fight in the Korean War. He was stationed at Nellis AFB and loved to tell stories of taking the jets out for a "spin" in the Nevada desert during the day, then partying on the Las Vegas strip in his flight suit at night.
Bob is survived by his son John and daughter Stacey, stepson Ben and stepdaughter Emily and several grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

John Brian Warnke was a 35 year resident of the Vail Valley and was employed as a real estate broker with Hoffman West Real Estate before his retirement in 2016. John was a passionate outdoorsman who found happiness in the mountains he called home.
John is survived by his loving wife, Becky Courtwright, his children KC Warnke (Elizabeth) and Mari Lyn Warnke and his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Warnke, Duke Warnke and Marah Williamson. He is also remembered by his step-son Mark Williamson (Brittainy Williamson) as well as his beloved sister Jan Warnke and her husband Chris Wilt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St; Phoenix, AZ 85014 (hov.org/donate) or to Gracious Savior Church, 33520 Hwy 6., P.O. Box 250; Edwards, CO 81632
