TAX YEAR UPDATE NOTICE - 2025
Grace period has started.
Tax information for 2024 is now available. The VMLS will provide a 30 day grace period for agents to go into all Active & Pending listings and update the tax year and amount (if applicable). All Pending/Active listings must reflect the correct tax information for year 2024 and must be updated by March 14, 2025.
Once the grace period ends, the VMLS will fine $50 per listing, with the fine escalating every two business days that information is not updated.
Thank you for your effort in keeping the MLS up to date.

Call-for-Action: Use of ID verification systems
Background:
Last year, a bill passed in Colorado that jeopardizes the use of identity verification systems such as FOREWARN®. If not fixed before May, a REALTOR® who uses an identity verification app could face steep penalties in 2026 if they choose for safety reasons to not show a property to a stranger. It could be considered denying someone a housing opportunity and lead to a claim against a REALTOR® of an unfair or deceptive trade practice, which E&O insurance may not cover.
Every REALTOR® deserves to work safely. Knowing as much information as possible before meeting or showing a property to a stranger is a critical safety tool.
Take action:
Take action today and urge legislators to fix the definitions in Senate Bill 24 - 205 "Consumer Protections in Artificial Intelligence" to allow REALTORS® to work safely by verifying identities before engaging with strangers.
You can send a letter to your Senator through the button below.
