2013 Basketball State Championship Recognition |

Our 2013 State Championship Basketball Team was recognized during
halftime of the Bishop Watterson vs. Johnstown Monroe game on 12/28. Following the game, the players, coaches, and friends met at the Varsity Club.

Our Alumni Department is happy to announce that we have resumed our
in-person service at St. Lawrence Haven, the sack lunch program run by St. Vincent DePaul. Volunteers meet at St. Lawrence Haven at 244 E. Rich Street in downtown Columbus on the third WEDNESDAY of every month from
9:30 a.m. to noon to prepare and package meals.
In addition, we are looking for volunteers to provide much-needed sandwiches, fruit, drinks, chips, and treats for the patrons of St. Lawrence Haven. These items may be brought to St. Lawrence Haven while we are volunteering, or may be dropped off at Bishop Watterson by 9:00 a.m.
The need continues to be great and we would love your help.

ACT All Stars
Congratulations to the following seniors who earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT (composite and/or section) in 2022!
The ACT test consists of four sections: English, Math, Reading and Science. The highest score a student can receive for a section is 36. A student's composite score is the average of the four section scores.

Diaper, Food Drives Help Those in Need
Our students recently held drives to assist local organizations serving the needs of the community.
A diaper drive brought in 23, 849 diapers and 50,370 wipes for Bottoms Up Diaper Bank, even more than was donated by BWHS students last year.
A food drive on Valentine's Day with donations going to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective brought in 10,209 non-perishable food items. Valentine’s Day was the perfect day for our students to actively participate in Jesus’ teaching to love and serve others!

Students Team Up with Alumna for Cafeteria Waste Audit
Our Environmental Club performed a waste audit of the cafeteria with the help of alumna Dominique Hadad '16. As you can see, the students did not shy away from examining the trash produced at lunch.

Kairos Retreat #24
Did you know Bishop Watterson was the first Catholic high school in the area to host in-person off-site retreats during the pandemic? And we're still going strong! Our 24th Kairos Retreat for seniors happened recently at The Spiritual Center at Maria Stein, Ohio. K-25 will be held in March. We welcome all prayers for these events, that the retreatants grow in their faith, connect in a deeper way with classmates and remain inspired to carry the love of God forward.

Freshman Day of Reflection
Our Freshman class gathered together on campus for a retreat day called Freshman Day of Reflection. The day included activities to help them grow deeper in their faith while expanding their connections with classmates. They were led through the day by senior leaders, some of whom also gave talks. The day concluded with Mass in Dominican Hall, led by our chaplain, Fr. Paul Noble.

Mock Trial Advances
Our Mock Trial team is moving on to Regionals on February 17!
Luke Ponessi, Mia Aguilar Novello, Callie Kasun and Mary Gilsenan all received the Outstanding Attorney Award. Colin McNair, Adam Coyne, Helena Museliewicz, and Ethan Blatt all received the Outstanding Witness Award. Congratulations to all of you on your success at districts!

Solidarity Art Project
Mrs. Bibb’s art classes recently created this Solidarity Project. Students helped each other make silhouettes which were then mounted together. The resulting artwork symbolizes how together we are stronger and more beautiful while still able to celebrate what makes each person special and unique. We can bring our talents forward as we live out Jesus’ teaching to serve others.
