St. Lawrence Haven Service
On December 13th, alumni spanning Classes of 1963 to 2023, volunteered at St. Lawrence Haven preparing meals and setting up the SLH Toy Shop. We were so grateful to have so many alumni willing to donate their time for this worthy cause. Alumni are pictured above.
Our Alumni Department provides monthly service to St. Lawrence Haven, the sack lunch program run by St. Vincent DePaul. Volunteers meet at St. Lawrence Haven, 244 E. Rich Street in downtown Columbus on the third WEDNESDAY of every month from 9:30 a.m. to Noon to prepare and package meals.
In addition, we deliver much-needed sandwiches, fruit, drinks, chips, and treats for the patrons of St. Lawrence Haven.
The need continues to be great and we are always looking for volunteers to join our team. If you would like to become involved, please email Terri Kernan at tkernan@cdeducation.org.

BWHS Little Theatre Renovation
The renovation of the BWHS Little Theatre is well underway! Thanks to a generous lead gift of $400,000 from entrepreneur and philanthropist Kim Knoppe, the space will be completely transformed.
We continue to see improvements daily, including a new lobby entrance, lights, seats, stage flooring, a glass sound booth, and a spruce up of the greenroom, including the installation of two new bathrooms.
Thank you to Kim Knoppe and our other donors for making this a reality.

Senior Assists Blind Students
Senior Ryland Arnold volunteers to assist the marching band for The Ohio State School for the Blind. The band marched at the Circleville Pumpkin Festival this Fall and Ryland guided his band buddy, Chris, around the festival prior to the festival’s parade.
“I enjoy helping the blind because you get a new perspective of your community,” Ryland said. “It’s heartwarming because it feels good knowing you’re giving this person an opportunity to do something they want to do but can’t on their own. It’s joyful.”
Ryland’s buddy used to have vision but is now blind.
“It’s interesting to be asked how many people are there and other things. What we can see is a huge thought for them.”
