St. Lawrence Haven Volunteering |
|
Our Alumni Department is happy to announce that we have resumed our
in-person service at St. Lawrence Haven, the sack lunch program run by St. Vincent DePaul. Volunteers meet at St. Lawrence Haven at 244 E. Rich Street in downtown Columbus on the third WEDNESDAY of every month from
9:30 a.m. to noon to prepare and package meals.
In addition, we are looking for volunteers to provide much-needed sandwiches, fruit, drinks, chips, and treats for the patrons of St. Lawrence Haven. These items may be brought to St. Lawrence Haven while we are volunteering, or may be dropped off at Bishop Watterson by 9:00 a.m.
The need continues to be great and we would love your help.

Knoppe $400K Gift Pledge Accelerates Theatre Renovation Planning |
|
Bishop Watterson has begun the planning process to renovate the Little Theatre, thanks to a generous $400,000 donation pledge from entrepreneur and philanthropist Kim Knoppe. Architects have begun drawing up plans, intended to enhance the participants’ experience with new stage flooring, stairs, doors and storage racks, the addition of a glass sound booth, and a spruce up of the greenroom, including installing bathrooms. Additionally, the renovation will enhance the audience experience with new seating, flooring and lighting. |

Honor your favorite thespian, musician, dancer, or singer by purchasing an engraved nameplate on a seat when our theatre is renovated! The cost of $300 per seat will go toward supporting the theatre program and maintaining the Little Theatre.

Wrestling State Championship Results
Our wrestlers brought home two state championships for 2023!
Sophomore Mitchell Younger defended his 2022 state title at 144 lbs. and freshman Joe Curry won the title at 120.
In addition, sophomore Neal Krysty took third at 106 and freshman James Lindsay finished 4th at 132.
Senior Lily Grayem took third in the girls event.

Celebrating 500 Wins for Coach Lombardo
Congratulations to boys basketball head coach Vince Lombardo on reaching his landmark 500th coaching victory with a 55-29 defeat of London in the district semifinal!

UD Chorale Visits
The University of Dayton Chorale visited to perform and speak with our students about UD and being part of a collegiate music ensemble. It was a homecoming for John Agan '22 who is a freshman at UD and a member of the chorale.
