In Service to Others
The Alumni Department provides service at St. Lawrence Haven on the second Wednesday of each month, preparing and packaging meals for
the daily lunch line. We normally volunteer from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
St. Lawrence Haven is a St. Vincent de Paul-run sack lunch program, located downtown behind Holy Cross Church.
Approximately 200-400 meals are served each day. The staff at St. Lawrence Haven is very appreciative of the assistance we provide and we are thankful for the alumni and friends who have taken time out of their busy schedules to help with this service endeavor!
If you are interested in helping, please email Terri Kernan at [email protected] .
We would love to have you join us!

Eternal Rest Grant Unto Them

School News
Senior Megan Eberts Accepted Early Action at MIT

Congratulations to senior Megan Eberts on earning Early Action admission to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)! Megan is the only student out of 64 applicants from central Ohio to receive EA admission, and one of nine in the state of Ohio. MIT received 9,200 Early Action applications, admitted just 687, deferred 6,700 and rejected 1,800. Megan, who is a National Merit Commended Scholar, is interested in majoring in Applied Math and playing on the women’s soccer team.
At Bishop Watterson she has been a captain of the varsity Girls Soccer Team, a member of Student Council, a Student Ambassador, an attorney on the 2019 Mock Trial Team, and a member of the Business Club and the Paso a Paso Club. Her volunteer work includes coaching Immaculate Conception’s Science Olympiad Team, participating in the BWHS service mission trip to Guatemala, serving on the Teen Advisory Board at Whetstone Library and doing research in the Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Department at the University of Minnesota.
We are very proud of the work Megan has done to achieve EA admission at MIT!

Kairos Retreat #14: January 2020

Kairos is a three and a half day retreat which invites students to a deeper sense of self and to a deeper relationship with others and with God. Three retreats are held each year with one each during the fall, winter and spring seasons. Some juniors are included for the winter and spring retreats so they can prepare to lead a Kairos retreat during their senior year.
