Exciting News | Well, That's Impressive...
This summer, Señora Cid spent many hours researching curricula that would best assist her in preparing our middle school students to be successful as they enter high school. After reviewing several options, we chose the Senderos curriculum published by Vista Higher learning, which is a specialized language curriculum publishing company. The goal of the company is to empower effective communicators, support them with personalized learning, engage students with groundbreaking digital tools, and connect them to the modern world.
After completing both 7th and 8th grade Spanish at Grace, students will have had the opportunity to earn a Spanish I high school credit. Each student has both a physical textbook and a digital subscription. With Senderos PRIME, the digital portion of the curriculum, there is a distinct learning progression. Grammar structures, vocabulary and culture are all stressed within the series. Senora Cid is able to customize electronic assignments based on each student’s personal needs and acquisition of desired skills. Students receive immediate feedback through the digital platform. We are very excited to put this new curriculum into action with our students!

Artist of the Week I Check it out!
Congratulations to last week's Artist of the Week from Mrs. Webb's first grade class: Matthew and Levi! They each drew and then brightly colored a beautiful picutre of a toucan surrounded by it's natural environment.
Congratulations to these 3 year olds from Mrs. Lewis' class. Jacob and Easton used brightly colored shapes to create a Kandinsky-inspired abstract composition.
Congratulations to our new 3rd grade Artists of the Week from Ms. Dunn's class. Bella and Natalie were inspired by the "Mother and Child" paintings of famous artist Mary Cassat. The girls each drew a beautiful portrait of themselves and their moms on the day they were born.
