Grace Fund Stats
Be on the lookout for a special Grace Fund announcement in the next couple of days. We have some fun surprises in store for all those that have made a contribution, and trust us, you don't want to miss out!

The class participation competition ends this Thursday, November 15th. It's not too late for you to make an impact on Grace with a gift from your heart. Participation is most important.

If you'd like to be entered into next week's prize drawing, make sure to turn in your contribution asap! Gift certificates, carpool passes, free prizes, class don't want to miss out! This week's contest winner is: The deGroot Family. Your children will be waiting for you in the front office at 3:15 each day next week, and all you have to do is pull up to the door and we will get your children to you. No waiting in the carpool line and curbside service...there's nothing better!
Big Decisions Ahead...
At Grace we partner with parents to create personal and ongoing dialogue.

Parenting is full of both rewards and challenging decisions. Choosing the high school that will help your child thrive in the years leading to college is one of those decisions. We recently held a  Coffee and Conversation  surrounding the high school experience for our 7th and 8th grade families. Alumni, Jack Cooksey '16 (Bishop Snyder), Mary Reed '18 (Ridgeview I.B.), Brooke Remolde '17 (St. John's Country Day), and Walker Iller '17 (Fleming Island) spoke about their transition from Grace to high school. We are very proud of these students and the success they have found in both academics and extra-curricular activities.
Who's Your Favorite Team?
At Grace we encourage students to grow in faith and service to others.

Number of Non-Perishable Food Items Donated to Date:

The middle school is organizing a school-wide competition to collect food items that will be donated to the Green Cove Springs Food Pantry This is Grace Episcopal Day School's 30th year partnering with the Food Pantry. All students at Grace and their families are encouraged to participate! This food drive is our annual food collection in preparation for Ingathering, but this year we've again added a fun twist!

Beginning on November 8th students can bring in food items to be donated. As students enter the gate there will be collection bins labeled with the names of four sports teams. Students will vote for their favorite team by placing their items into their team bin. The last day for collection of food items will be on Wednesday the 14th. The middle school students will count the number of items collected in the bins each day. On Thursday the winning team will be announced, however, the real winners will be the families that are blessed by your giving.

As an extra fun element to this food drive, students may wear their favorite team shirt to school on Thursday the 15th. Students must still wear their regular uniform bottoms on this day. If you do not have a favorite team, remember that you are part of the GEDS team and can wear your GEDS t-shirt.

The food drive runs from 11/08-11/14 and the type of food items usually donated are: canned vegetables, fruit and beans, jars of peanut butter, boxes of pasta, and spaghetti sauce.

Operation Christmas Child
At Grace we encourage students to grow in faith and service to others.

We are excited about the opportunity for Grace students to share the love of Christ with others around the world through  Operation Christmas Child . During this holiday season, we are partnering with Samaritan’s Purse, a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has sought to meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disaster, disease, and famine.

If you are interested in participating in Operation Christmas Child, please fill a shoebox with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies, and return it with $9 to the front office any time between November 12 th -15 th .  Here's a great link with ideas and more information about Operation Christmas Child.
What Do Duck Tape, Kindness, and Grace Students All Have in Common?
At Grace we encourage students to grow in faith and service to others.

October was National Bullying Prevention Month and Grace first through fourth graders are living out kindness around campus.  Through the  Be Kind ®   Stick Together ®  character education program offered to schools by  Project Love® and Duck Tape   ®   we watched the video below of a  Human Kindness Chain . Students brainstormed what kindness can look like at Grace and discussed boundaries, behavior, and forgiveness. They made a joint pledge to: "Stick together against bullying, stop hurtful teasing and encourage others to do the same. To do their part to make Grace a safe place by being kinder to others. To not let their words or actions hurt others and to treat others the way they want to be treated.”
Do You Have Holiday Plans?
Can you believe the holidays are quickly approaching? If you're in need of childcare before Thanksgiving or Christmas, or after Christmas, Grace has got you covered.

This week's Preschool/Kindergarten Artists of the Week are Mark and Domenic. They each drew and colored beautiful sunflowers as part of studying the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. Way to go guys! Your artwork is beautiful!
Congratulations to the new Artists of the Week from Mrs. Hines' 4th grade class: Lydia and Joshua. They each drew an amazing and very detailed picture based on the famous Grant Wood painting American Gothic. Can you guess who the people in the drawings are?
