Eagle Eye Newsletter

Liberty Elementary 2017

From the Principal...

Dear Eagles,

Our parking lot congestion is becoming increasingly worse as well as the safety of our pedestrian crossing.  Please only use the pick up/drop off zone for quick pick ups and drop offs.  It is important that you move forward when space opens to keep traffic flowing.  It is okay to park at the top of the zone, the children can walk up to you.  The school buses are on a tight schedule and we must allow them to leave on time.  This means that traffic will be stopped to let the buses out.  Lastly, please use the designated crosswalk when crossing.  Many folks are darting in and out between cars and this is not safe.  With everyone helping and on the same page the parking lot becomes a smooth running machine.

The weather has turned chilly.  Please label all coats, gloves, hats, and send your child properly dressed for being outside.  We will be outside for all recesses unless it is pouring rain or way too cold.  Recess is a lot more fun when the children are warm.  Please contact the school if you need assistance with a jacket.

As always, we appreciate you making sure your child is at school on time.  It is important that children are here by 8:40.

Thanks so much for all you do support Liberty!

It's time to start planning our fabulous Liberty Love event that will take place on February 9, 2018.  Similar to last year, this event will be held at the gorgeous Barber Park Event Center. Liberty Love is Liberty's biggest fundraiser event of the year. The event is fully catered and will hold a Silent Auction and an exciting Live Auction. We can't wait for you to join us for an entertaining parent's night out that raises important funding for our children's field trips, special activities, classroom technology, school supplies and our cherished Community Kindness Campaign!

To make the event a success, we have lots of fun volunteer opportunities available for our Liberty community. Parents, friends and family are all welcome! Feel free to sign up for as many items as you would like!
  • Art Coordinator for each classroom:  Create a fun piece of art to be auctioned.  Please sign up by November 15th. Feel free to have multiple parents/people helping with your projects! Art Coordinators will be the point person for each grade and will ensure that the art item is completed by February 1st
  • Themed Baskets: We will be combing grades this year to create themed baskets - Coordinators will work together to create one themed basket for each group.
  • Volunteer opportunities for the evening of the event:  Set-up/decor, check-in, spotters, bid sheets, Grub Grab / Wine Grab attendants, photogrpaher, check-out, clean-up, etc,...
  • Dessert Donations: We will need 23  yummy treats/cakes for the dessert auction. Desserts will need to be delivered to the event center or school by 10am on Friday, February 9th.
We are also in need of both Live and Silent Auction items for the event. Can you or someone you know provide an item we may auction off to raise money for our wonderful school?

Suggested and Needed Items: Cabin Rental (any location, suggestions: McCall, Sun Valley, Bend), Sporting Event Tickets, Local Goods/Services, Gift Cards, Bottles of Wine for our Wine Pull.
