MEAC Basketball Tournament Recap



Coppin alumni traveled to Norfolk, VA March 13-16th to support our student-athletes during the 2024 MEAC Basketball Tournament. During the tournament, Kevin A. Carr, ’04, ‘06 sang the National Anthem and was honored as Coppin State’s 2024 MEAC Distinguished Alumni honoree. Coppin State's men's basketball team's season ended with a loss to top-seeded Norfolk State, while the women's basketball team beat Maryland Eastern Shore before falling in the semifinals to Norfolk State. Mark your calendars for March 12-15, 2025 to join us next year.

The National Women's History Alliance, which spearheaded the movement for March being declared National Women's History Month, has announced the women's history theme for 2024, "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion". A Presidential Fireside Chat



Join us for an intimate conversation that explores how urban higher education anchor institutions and cinematography can collaborate to uplift multicultural communities through improving public narratives, culture, stereotypes, and wealth gap solutions. Our distinguished speakers will share thoughtful insights on the nexus of narratives and socioeconomic mobility, focused on supporting students through an urban higher education framework. This premiere event will uncover daily applications that advance promising students’ lives and produce positive intergenerational narratives. Space is limited. RSVP by Friday, April 19th.


We will provide a bus for those traveling from Baltimore who wish to participate. The bus will leave Coppin State University, Lot F at 4:00 pm in route to DC. The bus will depart HQ DC House by the Burns Brothers at approximately 9:30 pm to return to campus.

Conference at Coppin (EICAC)


EICAC 2024 is a glimpse into our economic future through the present lens of youth and emerging adults. The learning experience will be a transformative opportunity for youth and adults under 30 years old to engage with entrepreneurs from government, corporations, academic institutions, and community stakeholders to share ideas and develop strategies for fostering economic mobility and addressing wealth inequities. Held on the beautiful campus of Coppin State University, on April 25, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. (EST), the conference will help ignite a growing culture of innovation and resilience that harnesses the creativity and drive of one of our most valuable assets, our youth, and emerging adults.
