ILS Students Earn Spots at Bulls Champs Day
This past summer, the Chicago Bulls/Sox Academy hosted a basketball camp at Immanuel. Each participant attending one of these camps throughout the Chicagoland area had a chance to qualify for Champions Day by competing in the Chicago Bulls Skills Competition. The Skills Competition tested the participants' Bulls Run, Bulls Drive, and Bulls Shot; some of the same skills that professional scouts use to evaluate high school and college players!

The top three girls and top three boys in each age group will participate in skills testing. Approximately 60 kids qualified out of hundreds, and two of these are ILS students! Dominic Murrell (G5)qualified for the Bulls Run and Linnea Popp (G4) qualified for Bulls Drive and Bulls Run.  Congratulations Linnea and Dominic! Go Eagles!
Goodbye, Hello, Goodbye
Today is Judy Nelson’s last day as Immanuel’s school secretary, and we wish her God’s richest blessings as she begins her new job. We are pleased to announce that Immanuel has a new school secretary. Her name is Kathleen (Katie) Williams. She has extensive experience in customer service and office administration, which will be helpful in working with our teachers, students, and parents. Mrs. Williams has a very bubbly, friendly personality and will complement the rest of our staff as we work closely together in ministry. There will be a period of transition over the next couple of weeks while Mrs. Williams finishes her commitments with her current employer and begins her new responsibilities at Immanuel. During this time we will have volunteers assist us at the front desk of the school office to ensure that everything goes smoothly during the interim.

It is also very bittersweet to announce that Teri Pohorsky’s last day will be Nov. 9. She and her husband Jim have bought a kayaking business in South Carolina and will be moving there to begin a new adventure together. We have begun our search for qualified candidates for the position and are assembling a search committee to begin interviewing as soon as possible. We will keep everyone informed during the process.
