Middle School Night

All kids in Grades 4-7 are invited to Immanuel's Middle School Night! Stop in for wacky science, a quick lesson on Spanish fruit salad, grammar like you've never seen it before, and more! Flyers were sent home with with students; share it with a neighbor or bring a friend!
Visit all four sections and get your ticket stamped for a chance to be part of the student team that plays the faculty and staff in an awesome game of Gaga Ball!
Christmas Journey
Sun., Dec. 9, 3 PM
Join us for this free family event that explores the nativity. From 3-4 PM take a guided tour of Immanuel's outdoor nativity, make a craft--there are a variety of options for preschool through adult, and enjoy Cookies & Cocoa courtesy of Immanuel's Parent-Teacher League. We end with Immanuel Lutheran School's preschool students sharing their Christmas songs (4:15 PM). Please RSVP here by Sun., Dec. 2 to ensure each preschooler receives a special gift!

The average girl’s self-confidence peaks at age nine. This startling statement is the result of a  study  on children and self-esteem commissioned by the American Association of University Women and reported in the  New York Times. Leah Tatina designed the Made Matchless curriculum as a class to help young girls learn their true value in Christ and she's now offering it as a one-day workshop for moms and daughters. Women's Retreat: The Five Friends Every Person Needs

Needed: Girls' Dresses
The fours preschool class taught by Bobbi Norkus is looking for donations of girls' dresses for use in their dress up box. If you have some you'd like to donate, please bring the to the school office. Thank you!
There have been some issues with changing from first to second quarter in Headmaster. We believe those issues have been resolved, and Headmaster should be working properly again. Please let the school office know if you are still having trouble.
Sick Season Reminders
Be sure to review our policies regarding health and wellness on pages 10 – 11 of Immanuel’s Student and Family Handbook, which can be found online in the parent portal of the school’s website. With cold and flu season upon us, these recommendations from the CDC are important to follow:
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
  • Wash your hands often to protect yourself from germs. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  • Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
Welcome Mrs. Sosnowski!
We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Sosnowski is Immanuel’s new Special Needs Coordinator! She graduated from Concordia University Chicago, and prior to coming to Immanuel she has been working with special education students at Fearn Elementary in the West Aurora School District 129. She is very familiar with the assessments, interventions, and strategies that we use with our students here at Immanuel, which will help provide a smooth transition for everyone. Please help us give her a warm welcome into our Immanuel community!
Extended Care Billing Reminders
Please keep in mind that children are not to be signed out of After Care until they are actually leaving with their parent or authorized adult. As a reminder, we charge $0.11/minute for extended care fees as follows:

Morning Care
Middle school students: time of arrival – 7:45 AM
Elementary school: time of arrival – 8 AM
Preschool students: time of arrival – 8:35 AM

After Care
All students: 3:15 PM – time of pick-up
Any student picked up after 5:30 PM will be charged $1.00/minute
