School Supply Drop & Spaghetti Supper Tonight!

Drop off supplies and enjoy a delicious spaghetti dinner served by Principal Donna Laughlin and Lead Pastor Eric Kennaugh. Student Ambassadors will help carry supplies and locate classrooms.  
Important Communication Information
If you have not already done so, please go to http://ilsbatavia.org/parent_login and follow the directions there to submit your information. It is imperative that all school families enter their email and phone number information here so that they can receive school closing information, participate in classroom groups, and have access to important school information. Payments
Home-to-school payments are to be delivered to the school office. Enclose cash or check payments in an envelope labeled with the child’s name and payment purpose.

Online Payments
The Realm now offers bank payments for easy paperless school transactions. Contact Karen Marchen in the business office for details. It is a simple set up, with no fees.

Hot Lunch
Effective this school year, lunch payments are requested at the time of order as ILCS is obligated to pay at the time of order.

Extended Care
Families using morning or after-school care are to keep their balance paid on a monthly basis. Continued use of extended care may be denied for past due accounts.

Sports & Activity Fees
Sports and activity fees are are due at the time of registration. Lack of payment will prohibit participation.

We ask for everyone's cooperation by maintaining a current balance throughout the school year. Please contact the business or school office with concerns. 
Safety Reminders and Car Line Procedures
Reminders:
  • the posted speed limit is 10 miles per hour. 
  • Please do not use your cell phone while driving in the car line. 
  • Name cards (K-8) should be left in windows throughout the school year so that all staff members can easily assist children into vehicles. 
  • Pedestrians may only cross at the crosswalk, and drivers must watch for pedestrians at all times. 
  • Drivers who need to exit the vehicle to accompany a child into the building should park in the lot and accompany their child to and from the building. Otherwise, drivers should stay in the car to ensure that the line moves forward smoothly.
Morning and After School Care
Morning care begins Wed., Aug. 21 and is offered beginning at 7 AM each day school is in session at $.11/minute. Families with middle school students will not be charged after 7:45 AM due to middle school’s earlier start to the school day. All other families will not be charged for their elementary children in morning care after 8 AM. Families with preschool children in extended care will not be charged after 8:20 AM. After School Care is available from 3:15-5:30 PM and is also $.11/minute. Families who pick up their children after 5:30 will be charged $1.00/minute for every minute after 5:30 PM.
Pets
Pets are not allowed on the campus unless it is a certified service animal or has received prior administrative approval as a part of a school function.
Children's Choir begins Thu., Aug. 29
All children entering K-G6 are invited to join Immanuel's Children's Choir on Thursdays at 6 PM in the music room to share songs and learn to play simple rhythm instruments in accompaniment. The children sing once or twice each month and participate in the annual Service of Lessons and Carols in December. Contact Sharon Dalpini at sdalpini@immanuelbatavia.org with questions.
Vision and Hearing Screenings
Sep. 19-20 during class times
Eyes 2 Ears Vision and Hearing, formerly Kidcare Medical, will perform vision and hearing screening for all required students. Rescreenings and afternoon preschool class 4.3 screenings will be held on Sept. 30.
Hearing screening is required annually for preschool children 3 years of age or older and for all school age children in kindergarten, first, second and third grade. Students in special education classes, those who have been referred by a teacher, and those who are transfer students must also participate in hearing screening.
Vision screening is required for preschool children 3 years of age or OLDER and for school age children in kindergarten, second and eighth grades. Students in special education classes, those who have been referred by a teacher, and those who are transfer students must also participate in vision screening.

PTL Executive Committee
Mark Carroll, President
Mark and Andrea have three boys: Jack graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School (ILS) in 2018, Sam is in eighth grade, and Will is a second grader. Mark, Andrea, and family have been members of Immanuel Lutheran Church (ILC) for eleven years. The Carroll family volunteer on the Green Team, serve as clean-up crew at sporting events, and Andrea is a member of the Immanuel School Committee.
 
Susie Lester, Vice President
Susie and Lane have been members of ILC for six years. Bryan and Natalie will be in sixth grade at ILS this year. In addition to her work on the PTL Executive Committee, Susie can be found in the kitchen helping with the Thanksgiving Feast or working the concession stands for home games.
 
Brandi Feltner, Treasurer
Brandi and Jim have one son, Luke, who is in sixth grade this year, who has attended ILS since Kindergarten. Jim is the junior varsity basketball coach and Brandi helps in a variety of roles, wherever she is needed.
 
Brandy Bloemker, Secretary
Brandy is serving her second term as PTL secretary. She and Matt have two boys who have attended ILS for four years. Evan is in seventh grade and Collin is in third grade. Brandy enjoys volunteering at various school functions and activities.
 
John and Melissa Lejeck, Boosters Representatives
This husband and wife team have been at ILCS for eight years. Their daughter Tessa will be is in sixth grade and son TJ is a second grader. John is the varsity basketball coach while Melissa helps coach cheerleading, runs the concession stand for home games, and lends her dancing talents for the school musicals.
