Safety Concerns
Parents: please remember to keep a special eye on young ones during release times. Our parking lot and on-campus roadways are busy [and dangerous] places. Please also be sure to keep your children near you when inside the building. Finally, climbing trees can be a fun childhood activity--at home. Please do not allow children to climb trees at school. Our concern is for your child's safety while on our campus. Thank you for partnering with us in this endeavor!

If you have not already done so, please go to ilsbatavia.org/parent_login and follow the directions there to submit your information. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Lori St.Vincent at lstvincent@immanuelbatavia.org .

Tardies
Next week we will start recording tardies for students in K-8. Attendance and punctuality are recorded on the permanent record for all students in K-8. Students should stop in the office to receive a pass if they are late to school. Tardies recorded to date have been marked excused as we all get used to the school routine.  Please note the school policy regarding punctuality:

Punctuality (Kindergarten-Grade 8) (Student and Family Handbook, Page 9)
  • Students who are tardy must be accompanied to the school office by an adult to school office to obtain a tardy pass.
  • A child is considered tardy if he or she arrives in the classroom after the official start of the day, but within 50 minutes of that time.
  • Students arriving later than 50 minutes will be marked absent for one-half day of school.
  • Students who leave school more than 50 minutes before the dismissal time (2:25 PM) will also be marked absent for one-half day of school.
  • Students in Kindergarten-Grade 2 will lose recess after being marked tardy three times in one semester and a notice will be sent home.
  • Students in Grades 3-8 will serve a truancy detention (designed to address attendance issues), between 3:15-4:15 PM, after being marked tardy three times in one semester, and a notice will be sent home.
  • After the third behavioral detention or loss of recess, a meeting with the principal is required to work out a plan to reduce tardiness.
  • If tardiness continues and the plan does not result in punctuality, the School Committee will intervene.
Admissions Director
We are pleased to announce that Rebecca Bello is Immanuel's new admissions director. As an active member of the Immanuel community, she has been a volunteer volleyball coach since 2014, working with both the JV and varsity teams on both the girls’ and boys’ side. She is also involved in the growing Immanuel theater program as an assistant director and has served as PTL Secretary (2015-2017) and President (2017-2019).

Outside of her Immanuel activities, she also volunteers with the Marmion-Rosary Band program, including helping instruct the drum line with her husband, Nolan. Rebecca and Nolan have two children. Their son Ethan is currently a junior at Marmion Academy, having attended Immanuel from kindergarten-eighth grade. Their daughter Clara is currently a fifth grader and has been attending Immanuel since Preschool threes.

Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing from the University of Illinois in 1999, where she was also part of the Marching Illini band. She spent ten years in corporate America in various marketing roles, starting with marketing communications at a factory automation equipment designer before spending the bulk of her career in product, brand, and retail marketing management for First Alert in Aurora.

Please join us in welcoming Rebecca Bello as Immanuel's new Admissions Director!
