Wine of the Week!
2015 Franco Conterno “Bussia” Riserva Barolo
Holidays are here and that means big, hearty dinners; and that means Nebbiolo! I brought this in specifically for celebratory feasts. Franco Conterno is Aldo Conterno’s son, and Aldo Conterno is arguably Italy’s greatest winery. The Franco Conterno winery was started as a second label from Poderi Aldo Conterno and named after Aldo’s son. Franco’s uncle Pietro planted the vines for this wine in 1996. The 25 year old vines grow juice that is absolutely grand. Smart folk, and you know who you are, know Nebbiolo is one of the greatest red winemaking grapes in the world. So here you geniuses go: Conterno juice; greatness in a bottle! Drink up Johnny.
