Celebrate Learning

Chess Club concluded last week!  It was a blast.  Ezra even put his LEGO and Chess club experiences together to create a chess board out of legos!

KB and KHM visited Joan's Pumpkin Patch! They fed goats and sheep, picked a pumpkin, went down a giant slide and enjoyed playing in the beautiful outdoors!

5th grade students have been learning how planets and moons stay in orbit. They can now draw diagrams of and explain how gravitational pull keeps a planet traveling along a particular path.

MS Drama and Drama 1 performed their hearts out last Friday!  Luckily no legs were really broken.

I am...

A child of God, forgiven, brave, special, and loved.

MS Bible students afiirm their identity (in Christ).  Who are you?

Last Saturday was the all-high school trip to Del Osso:  Hay rides, corn maze, and pumpkins, it was a fall-tastic trip!

The elementary campus is hoping to start a gardening club using the newly available space behind the District Office. We are looking for committed (at least once a week) volunteers who can assist the 4th/5th graders in developing their “green thumbs”. If you are interested in receiving more information about this club, please contact Mr. Patrick Lee ([email protected]).

Eagles Club Announcement: Makers STEM Club!

Nexplore Makers Club is an engineering program designed to inspire kids to pursue futures in science & technology. Students interact with fun Maker Kits that enhance mechanical, artistic, and engineering skills, while encouraging them to act as inventors in their own right. Participants design their own remote controlled hydraulic arms, learn to harness energy to power race cars, and experiment with structural design. Plus, students can keep their inventions and proudly share their projects with family and friends. Nexplore Makers Club is fully aligned with Next Generation Science Standards, and reminds kids to always explore, experiment and create!

Reminder: Senior Photos Needed

As a reminder, the yearbook would like to include your student's baby picture in the Redwood Christian High School 2023 yearbook. Please select one good quality photo of your child (any age from infant to about 1 year old), scan your photo, save it as a jpeg, and submit the photo in one of these 3 ways.

1. Email it to [email protected].

2. Click here to submit a baby picture to Yearbook Snap and use the code Eagles2023. Be sure to include the student's name in the note.

3. If you are not able to scan the photo, you can submit a photo in the office in an envelope with "Mrs. Castaneda" on it. Your photo will be scanned and returned to your student.

A Seniors "Then and Now" page will also be included in the yearbook. We use photos sent in by parents that have 2 or more current Seniors together in the photo from when they were in elementary or middle school and then we take a picture of them now in a similar pose. While you are searching for that baby picture, please keep an eye out for any good "then" photos and turn them in at this time also. All of the "Now and Then" pictures received may not be used, however, if several with the same person or group of people are received, the pictures that work best for the page will be chosen.

Please turn in your baby picture by October 28th. Also, if you haven't had your student's senior portrait done, please keep or reschedule your student's appointment with Kurt Burton Photography (510) 582-1092. We would like to have every Seniors portrait included on the Senior class page.

RCHS FIRST Robotics Competition Team Opportunity

We are looking for high school students interested in competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition. Team members can design using CAD, build using a machine shop and rapid prototyping (at Crosspoint Academy), program the semi-large robot, work in business and marketing, and more.

From the Counselor: "Just" an Electrician?

“I’m done with school, Mrs. Suth. I just want to be an electrician.” I had to smile, knowing that ‘just being an electrician'' involves hours and hours of instruction and certification testing. I reminded this young student that we never really stop learning, and most trades require continued education in their respective fields. We then went to the Chabot College website, and I brought up the information under careers and apprenticeships: (Click Here) and (Click Here) for further detail.  On these particular sites are several career paths of one and two year programs resulting in licensure and certification in areas from health science, to IT, to construction, to fire science. A four year university path is not for everyone, and there are other choices and directions to follow when seeking God’s plan and purpose in our lives.

If you have questions regarding college or career planning, please contact me at [email protected].

ATHLETICS

Athlete of the Week: MS Girls Softball Team

After knocking off the No. 1 team on Thursday, the MS Girl's Softball team advanced to the winner's bracket of the BASCAL playoff tournament. They played two neck-to-neck games Saturday afternoon to secure 4th place (of 15 teams). They finished the season competing at a high level. From Coach Hendren, "This team is evidence of what hard work, dedication, and coachability can accomplish. They started out raw and ended as one of the top teams in the league!" #GoEagles

NCS Golf Update: Yeh Advances to DI Tourney

Sarah Yeh competed in the NCS Division II Tournament this past Monday at Rooster Run Golf Course in Petaluma and qualified to advance to the Division I tournament next Monday, 10/31 in Rohnert Park. #GoEagles
