PUBLIC REVIEW OF MHS
REQUEST FOR FLEXIBILITY
As part of the charter process, Milton High School is considering two Requests For Flexibility (RFF). RFF's are exceptions from state/county policies and rules. More information about the RFF's can be found by clicking
HERE.
Milton's requests for the 2017-2018 school year are:
- Milton is requesting up to FOUR (4) Professional Learning Days for faculty and staff. THREE (3) of the days will be FULL RELEASE days for the students. One (1) of the days will be an EARLY RELEASE day (during the PSAT administration).
- Milton is proposing a Flexible Schedule during the Spring GA Milestone End of Course (EOC) test window. The proposal asks that students who are not scheduled to take an EOC assessment will be able to flex their start time on that designated EOC administration.
The Requests for Flexibility (RFF's) are open for public comment for 30 days.
Please go to the
Milton School Governance Council webpage and review the documents
or click on the links below. Give us your feedback using the online Public Comment Form, or by completing a comment form and returning it to the COMMENT BOX located in the MHS Front Office, or come to the RFF Public Comments Meetings on the following dates:
- Monday, November 14, 2016 at 9:00AM at Mugs on Milton, 12670 Crabapple Rd #100, Milton, GA 30004 or
- Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 4:00PM in the Milton Media Center.
All forms and comments are due no later than 12/07/2016.

NOVEMBER TEACHER OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to Nader Pak for being named November Teacher of the Month.
Mr. Pak's teaching philosophy: To answer the question why, he would have to think back to his own early experience immigrating to the United States and experiencing teachers in high school who cared enough to work with him individually and gave him countless opportunities to demonstrate that he could adjust, learn and move on to the next set of big challenges in his life. Teachers who taught him how to be patient, diligent, and persistent about his work which to this day he tries and practices with his own students. But most importantly, teachers who never gave up on him and spent many hours in their busy day helping, and giving positive feedback to work that was not always so positive or well put together. The philosophy or belief that he tries and brings to the classroom is the same spirit of giving, sharing and caring for all of students that he has had the pleasure of having which gave him the boost and confidence he needed to go on and succeed in his future studies and other areas of his life.

NOVEMBER EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to Karen Dixon for being named November Employee of the Month.
Here is what was said about her: Karen works tirelessly for Milton. She's in demand always and yet she'll drop what she's doing to solve a problem. She's so very approachable.

SAT OPTIONS:
December 3

March 31, 2017. More information for this program will be available at the Move On When Ready Night during second semester.
COLLEGE ADMISSION INFORMATION
When it comes to college admissions, everyone has the same question: "What are my chances of getting in?" The answer is not always clear, partly due to the way colleges admit students. The most important data is not what you see posted on the school's website, rather it is data that represents the admission decisions of ACTUAL Milton students. We are implementing a new process to begin accumulating meaningful data that will help guide families through college applications.
STEP 1 - Complete the Senior Advisement Form
This will help your Counselor and the College and Career Center assist students with picking schools and planning applications.
If you have not completed this form it can be found here:
https://goo.gl/forms/7PKWVGByxowjbykj1
STEP 2 - Complete the Milton High School College Decision Form
This form needs to be completed for each school to which you apply whether you are accepted, denied or deferred. You will be able to go back and edit this form as you receive admission decisions and scholarships, and then again when you decide which school you will attend.
This form can be found here:
https://goo.gl/forms/0aT0wJLpfL1Ge5nJ3
Finally, we are launching a new Facebook page to celebrate the
Future of Milton 2017.
Once you have decided which school you would like to attend, please share a photo and a little bit about your decision to attend that school.
https://www.facebook.com/futuresofmilton2017/
ASVAB TESTING

ASVAB (The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on
