Eaglecrest Neighbourhood Planning to Commence

A Neighbourhood Planning project will soon commence for Eaglecrest to help guide how the neighbourhood may evolve in the future.


This process comes after the Town’s purchase of the Eaglecrest Golf Course lands in late 2025 and will focus on neighbourhood scale planning, exploring how people move through the area, how parks and green spaces connect, how the neighbourhood should look and feel, and how new development fits with the existing community.


Parcel-specific planning will also be completed for Town land west of Country Club Drive, which is planned for sale later in 2026. This process will help refine the conditions and parameters for future development before this land is offered for sale.


Community input will be a key part of this process, with engagement in 2026 to include:

  • Focused meetings with the Eaglecrest Residents’ Association in early 2026
  • A public open house and online survey planned for March/April 2026

 

Feedback from these activities will help shape the Preliminary Eaglecrest Neighbourhood Plan and inform future planning and land sales.


Some areas of the Eaglecrest lands will require longer-term planning, with additional public engagement anticipated in 2027 and beyond. This includes lands near Highway 19A and the corner of Eaglecrest Drive and Country Club Drive.


The selection process for a golf course operator is underway, with the Town seeking the best long-term fit. Work is also underway to reconfigure and update the nine-hole golf course, following engagement with former Eaglecrest member groups in 2025.
