Eaglecrest Golf Course Lands

Meeting Video and Next Steps

The Public Hearing held on October 6, 2025, drew approximately 400 attendees who provided input on the proposed zoning and Official Community Plan (OCP) amendments related to the Eaglecrest Golf Course lands.


Approximately 35 speakers addressed Council directly to share comments and concerns regarding the proposed zoning changes, while many others chose to submit written comments.


A summary of comments will be included in the official minutes, available at the next Regular Council Meeting on October 22, 2025. Written submissions are available for viewing at Town Hall, and a video recording of the Public Hearing is now available on the Town's YouTube channel.


Next Steps

Following the October 6, 2025, Public Hearing, staff have carefully reviewed and reflected on the feedback received. As a result, the bylaws are now being updated by staff for Council to consider the proposed amendments.


Council will consider third reading of the proposed amended bylaws at the Regular Council Meeting on October 22, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Council Chambers.


At that meeting, Council may:

  • Advance the bylaws as presented, or
  • Make further amendments prior to consideration of adoption.


Adoption of the bylaws may occur at the same meeting, or at a Special Council Meeting on October 27, 2025. All meetings will be livestreamed and available for online viewing.


If the Town proceeds with the acquisition of the Eaglecrest Golf Course, a second phase of public consultation would take place after the November 1, 2025 deadline focusing on refinements to the land use and development plan based on continued community input.


Public Hearing Comments Period Closed

After a Public Hearing has concluded, Council can no longer accept input on the specific Zoning and OCP amendments under consideration. All comments and questions should be directed to Town staff.
