Men: Two or more males, individuals of humans. Persons; people; mankind; in an indefinite sense.
Greek: Anthropos [anth’-ro-pos] = man [552], misc [7]. from (aner) and ops (the countenance; a human being: - certain, man. Strong's Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Usage Notes: is used generally, of "a human being, male or female," without reference to sex or nationality, e.g., Matt. 4:4; Matt. 12:35; John 2:25; in distinction from God, e.g., Matt. 19:6; John 10:33; Gal. 1:11; Col. 3:23; in some instances with a suggestion of human frailty and imperfection,. "according to (kata) man," is used only by the Apostle Paul, of " the practices of fallen humanity, 1 Cor. 3:3; anything of human origin, Gal. 1:11; anthrōpinos, 'pertaining to mankind;'" in the phrase "the inward man," the regenerate person's spiritual nature personified, the inner self of the believer; in Eph. 3:16, as the sphere of the renewing power of the Holy Spirit; in 2 Cor. 4:16 (where anthrōpos is not repeated), in contrast to "the outward man," the physical frame, the "man" as congnizable by the senses; the "inward" man is identical with "the hidden man of the heart," 1 Pet. 3:4. as equivalent simply to "a person," or "one," whether "man" or woman, e.g., Acts 19:16; Rom. 3:28; Gal. 2:16; Jas. 1:19; Jas. 2:24; Notes: (1) In Gal. 3:28, the RV adds the italicized word "man" ("ye all are one man in Christ Jesus"), in accordance with Eph. 2:15, which speaks of Jew and Gentile as becoming "one new man" in Christ. We can understand by these Greek perspectives, the use of the word man [mankind] in the New Testament often represents the idea of male and female, as we understand from scripture, there is no difference where salvation is concerned. 1 Corinthians 11:12 (AMP) For as woman was made from man, even so man is also born of woman; and all [whether male or female go forth] from God [as their Author]. Galatians 3:28 (AMP) There is [now no distinction] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
However, the differences still remain in the realm of Church leadership where all the distinctions are not represented by male or female but husband and wife 1 Timothy 3:2 (NASB) An overseer [pastor, elder], then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 1 Timothy 3:12 (NASB) Deacons must be husbands of only one wife, and good managers of their children and their own households. which are much more defining. This is God’s order of things and the violation of such will be thwarted and the blessings will not come to pass. This is the message of Paul. Ephesians 4:27 (AMP) Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]. James 4:7 (AMP) So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.
