Glory: Brightness; luster; splendor; magnificence; praise ascribed in adoration; honor; fame; renown; celebrity; in scripture, the divine presence; or the ark, the manifestation of it. Honorable representation of God; Distinguished honor or adornment; that which honors or makes renowned; generous pride.

"glory" (from dokeō, "to seem"), primarily signifies an opinion, estimate, and hence, the honor resulting from a good opinion; so also in the resurrection of Lazarus, John 11:4, 40; the "glory" of God was exhibited in the resurrection of Christ, Rom. 6:4, and in His ascension and exaltation, 1 Pet. 1:21, likewise on the Mount of Transfiguration, 2 Pet. 1:17. In Rom. 1:23 His "everlasting power and Divinity" are spoken of as His "glory," i.e., His attributes and power as revealed through creation; in Rom. 3:23 the word denotes the manifested perfection of His character, especially His righteousness, of which all men fall short; in Col. 1:11 "the might of His glory" signifies the might which is characteristic of His "glory;" in Eph. 1:6, 12, 14, "the praise of the glory of His grace" and "the praise of His glory" signify the due acknowledgement of the exhibition of His attributes and ways; in Eph. 1:17, "the Father of glory" describes Him as the source from whom all Divine splendor and perfection proceed in their manifestation, and to whom they belong; brightness or splendor, (1) supernatural, emanating from God (as in the shekinah "glory," in the pillar of cloud and in the Holy of Holies, e.g., Exod. 16:10; Exod. 25:22), Luke 2:9; Acts 22:11; Rom. 9:4; 2 Cor. 3:7; Jas. 2:1; in Titus 2:13 it is used of Christ's return "the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ" (RV); cp. The wisdom of God with its mysteries and the hidden wisdom were all established for the benefit of bringing glory to us as of the only begotten of the Father. Jesus said something very profound before He left the earth and it certainly is a mystery hidden in God for our benefit and the world around us. John 5:20 (NASB) "For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel. John 14:12 (AMP) I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father. This is truly a marvel beyond comprehension, that the King of the Universe would say such a thing as this to His people.
This manifestation of His power and glory is the missing ingredient in the evangelizing of the whole world. The world is looking for signs and miracles that they may be able to separate the world of the real from the world of hypocrisy and doubt. This is a great calling for the body of Christ and it’s working together in this world, to bring to them a Jesus that loves them and watches over them to the point that He gave us His precious promises to gain favor and authority over all of the works of the devil. 2 Peter 1:4 (NASB) For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
God wants us to escape the corruption that is in the world thru lust and enjoy all the benefits that come through the Cross and resurrection of the Son. See the 103rd Psalm. This is the glory of the Father of which He wishes to pass onto us and to a lost and dying world. What is stopping us except a few threads of doubt which can be obliviated in a moment of time. Let’s pick ourselves up by the ‘bootstraps’ and get on with the greater things of this life, bringing God’s glory to a lost, confused and dying world.
