Should and stand are the same Greek word, and the combination gives us an idea of what the translators of the KJV were attempting to get across to us. This idea of ‘should not stand’ goes back to the knowing of confidence or solidity of the situation. Paul is saying that our faith is not based on or solidified by the wisdom of man or by any other criteria. In other words, faith has no basis in the wisdom of man for man will simply explain away the principles of the God Kind of Faith.
Our faith gives us an ability to move mountains and to believe in things we do not understand, nor can we see or fix our gaze upon the Law of Faith. Romans 3:27 (KJV) Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Faith isn’t the law but is settled in heaven by being a law. In other words, it operates the same way that any other law operates, such as the law of gravity. One simply sets it in motion, and the thing works exactly as it was designed to work. James 2:14 (KJV) What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? James 2:18 (KJV) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
One of the best ways I have ever heard it explained is by the understanding that faith is our servant. It is the principle that the angels are motivated by and even to the point of God Himself. Hebrews 1:14 (AMP) Are not the angels all ministering spirits (servants) sent out in the service [of God for the assistance] of those who are to inherit salvation? Hebrews 11:6 (AMP) But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]. Faith has won wars, caused seas to split, mountains to be removed, winds to stop blowing, folks to get healed, water to be turned to wine, lepers to win the prize of an entire army, and giants to fall. Faith is serving and working in every area of the believer who keeps his focus on our ‘servant’ and gives him the right of way in one’s life. Faith served Jesus Christ and serves any man who puts him to work. It can even move mountains and have them cast into the sea if we simply do not doubt it.
There is no trust in man’s idea of wisdom and ways of doing things. It is the power of God to have trust and confidence in the Walk of Faith and its mighty power. It can accomplish anything and all the impossible are manifested if we put the realm of faith into work. Man will never understand its amazing power for it is non comprehensible.
