Among Us

Part 4 of 5

"Princes"

1 Corinthians 2:6 (KJV) Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought.

1 Corinthians 2:6 (AMP) Yet when we are among the full-grown (spiritually mature Christians who are ripe in understanding), we do impart a [higher] wisdom (the knowledge of the divine plan previously hidden); but it is indeed not a wisdom of this present age or of this world nor of the leaders and rulers of this age, who are being brought to nothing and are doomed to pass away.

1 Corinthians 2:6 (NLT2) Yet when I am among mature believers, I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this world or to the rulers of this world, who are soon forgotten.

1 Corinthians 2:6 (MSG) 6 We, of course, have plenty of wisdom to pass on to you once you get your feet on firm spiritual ground, but it's not popular wisdom, the fashionable wisdom of high-priced experts that will be out-of-date in a year or so.

Princes: A sovereign in a certain territory; the chief and independent ruler of a nation or state; a chief in general ; in Scripture, this name prince is given to God, Daniel 8:11; to Christ, who is called the prince of peace, Isaiah 9:6,; to Satan, who is called the prince of this world, John 12:31., and prince of the power of the air, Ephesians 2:2.

Greek: archon[ar’-hone] =ruler [22], prince [11], chief [2], magistrate [1], chief ruler [1]. present participle of (archo); a first (in rank or power) :- chief (ruler), magistrate, prince, ruler. Strong's Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Usage Notes: (a) of Christ, as "the Ruler of the kings of the earth," Rev. 1:5; (e) of the Devil, as "prince" of this world, John 12:31; John 14:30; John 16:11; of the power of the air, Eph. 2:2, "the air" being that sphere in which the inhabitants of the world live and which, through the rebellious and godless condition of humanity, constitutes the seat of his authority; (g) of beelzebub, the "prince" of the demons, Matt. 9:24; Matt. 12:24; Mark 3:22; Luke 11:15. Vine's Expository Dictionary of Old Testament and New Testament Words.

The word for prince is a more common word and as you can see by this Greek definition, it represents quite a few different classes of leaders and rulers and which also includes the devil and his crowd which is addressed as beelzebub which is the name of satan. Greek: of Chaldee origin]; dung-god; Beelzebul, a name of Satan

However, this verse in I Corinthians represents actual rulers in this world and are not represented by a Godly perspective, but a worldly perspective which invades the soul [mind, will and emotions] of man. This is how our governments have evolved into this mess that it finds itself. This governmental problem is monumental to the Christian and his belief system and the governments will find themselves at odds with God if they continue down the spiraling path of destruction and enmity with God and His Word.

It is the responsibility of the believer to not only pray for these government officials but to get involved if one feels a strong distaste for the perverted decisions coming out of Washington. I don’t believe the five-fold ministry is to do so as my studies in the New Testament finds no example of Jesus confronting the Roman government and criticizing their occupation or decision making, nor did He criticize Barabbas for killing Romans to drive them out of the country.  It was because of the Jewish folks and their complete disregard for God and His Rulership that brought the Romans in, and we find no place in the Pharisees where repentance was taking place. Thus, the Romans occupied Jerusalem for another 300 years after Christ was long gone from the earth. Brothers and sisters, it is repentance that brings in the power and working of an almighty God who has power and authority over the heavens and earth, but it comes through the believers, and this is just the way God set it up.
