Demonstration: The act of demonstrating, or of exhibiting certain proof. The highest degree of evidence; certain proof exhibited, or such proof as establishes a fact or proposition beyond a possibility of doubt, or as shows the contrary position to be absurd or impossible.
Greek: apodeixis [ap-od’-ike-sis]- demonstration [1]. from (apodeiknumi); manifestation: - demonstration. Strong's Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. lit., "a pointing out" (apo, "forth," deiknymi, "to show"), a "showing" or demonstrating by argument, is found in 1 Cor. 2:4, where the Apostle speaks of a proof, a "showing" forth or display, by the operation of the Spirit of God in him, as affecting the hearts and lives of his hearers, in contrast to the attempted methods of proof by rhetorical arts and philosophic arguments. Man has always been cut short in life by the human factor and its limitations. Whether it is the doctor, the scientist, the scholar, the skilled worker, the intellectual parent, or teachers who have a bent of an idea apart from the Word of God. There is always a male or female who feels they have arrived or delved into the supernatural in some way or another.
I think in terms of Billionaires like Jeff Bazos, Elon Musk and Bill Gates who have certainly tapped into the world of success and finances and men who have created a vaccine for the Covid virus. What is lacking in all of this is man’s [mankind] attitude toward it and their lack of giving glory to whom you are to give glory. This will truly be their judgment on the day Christ returns, but it does not negate the great accomplishments that man is able to achieve up to a point.
We understand this in even greater depth with the Tower of Babel and God’ perspective on man’s accomplishments. Genesis 11:4 (KJV)And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. Genesis 11:6 (NKJV) And the LORD said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
It is clear that God knew about the heart of man and what he can accomplish but the thing that is missing is God also knows this ‘heart’ and how wicked it can be. And this is the dilemma that man always seems to find himself, when there is not a Godlike Supernatural intervention into the action. That ‘Tower thing’ would have ended up in absolute disaster and the thing would have come crumbling down with a great loss of life.
Man, just simply does not know the future of a thing and the ultimate consequences of his endeavors. This lack of wisdom or ability to know the end result or the future of a thing or action is the reason for most of the bad plights of life that mankind often finds themself. This can be true of the things in marriage, the environment, the eating habits, the use of money or improper use of, the political arena and its wars and rumors of wars, and all decisions mankind makes. It does not know its future and because God does, He controls things often for the benefit of man. We see God’s miraculous intervention in many parts of our history, our farms, our families, our churches, and our preservation of life in general. Yes, it is true that man can really mess things up and so I am thankful for the ‘Supernatural’ living on the inside of all of us who believe. I believe God calls it ‘Salt’.
