When one speaks of ‘none’, there is no getting around the idea that it does not include anyone, thing or place. God speaks to us to let our yes be yes and our no be no, but unfortunately, that is not how it normally pans out. 2 Corinthians 1:17 (MSG) Are you now going to accuse me of being flip with my promises because it didn't work out? Let your Yes be simply Yes, and your No be simply No; anything more than that comes from the evil one. As Christians, we are normally all over the place and have no absolutes for anything except to believe that you are going to heaven if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord.
Perhaps one of the great weaknesses of the church is its incessant attitude towards insecurity or the mental unknown. The church spends a great deal of time playing around with these fluctuating ideas. As an example: several years ago, a brother came up to me in a church service and asked me if I would pray with him. Very graciously I told him yes and the conversation continued. He told me of a life-threatening disease that he had been praying about for a while and so we began to pray. We spoke the Word of God over the disease. I laid hands on him, and I cursed that disease to its root and claimed ‘sozo’ over his body from head to toe. As we were finishing our prayer, I heard him asking one of the gentlemen in the group if he thought it prudent to keep his appointment with the hospital, as everyone knows it is difficult to get an appointment in hospitals these days. As he ended his question, he looked at me and I very emphatically spoke to him that I thought it would be a very good idea to keep that appointment. As one can see, this Christian had no agreement with me or the rest of the men as he was convinced in his heart that what he was doing with us in the prayer was simply something he just did not believe, and his fears overcame his faith. He did not let his yes be yes and his no be no and walked away from the promises of God and declared he had more confidence in the doctors than in the one who made him the promises. And he went round about the villages, teaching. This one complete act brings a great deal of joy to the Father and it grieves him when his children walk away in doubt.
