"Wisdom"

1 Corinthians 2:7 (KJV) But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory.

1 Corinthians 2:7 (AMP)But rather what we are setting forth is a wisdom of God once hidden [from the human understanding] and now revealed to us by God—[that wisdom] which God devised and decreed before the ages for our glorification [to lift us into the glory of His presence].

1 Corinthians 2:7 (NLT2) No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began.

1 Corinthians 2:7 (GW) We speak about the mystery of God's wisdom. It is a wisdom that has been hidden, which God had planned for our glory before the world began.

Wisdom: The right use or exercise of knowledge; the choice of laudable ends, and of the best means to accomplish them. If wisdom is to be considered as a faculty of the mind, it is the faculty of discerning or judging what is most just, proper and useful, and if it is to be considered as an acquirement, it is the knowledge and use of what is best, most just, most proper, most conducive to prosperity or happiness. Wisdom in the first sense, or practical wisdom is nearly synonymous with discretion. It differs somewhat from prudence, in this respect; prudence is the exercise of sound judgment in avoiding evils; wisdom is the exercise of sound judgment either in avoiding evils or attempting good. Prudence then is a species, of which wisdom is the genius. Quickness of intellect; readiness of apprehension; dexterity in execution; In Scripture theology, wisdom is true religion; godliness; piety; the knowledge and fear of God, and sincere and uniform obedience to his commands. This is the wisdom which is from above Psalms 90:12, Job 28:12. Profitable words or doctrine Psalms 37:30.

There can be no true Christianity without the knowledge of the Word and then the acting it out in life which we would call true wisdom. This is where we often find the ‘wheat and tares; the sheep and goats; the have and have nots; those who choose to follow Christ and those who use Him as a security blanket.’ Somewhere along the line the modern church has evolved into a religious sect that denies so much of the Bible and hangs onto what they can ‘figure’ out or understand. This is not the Christianity of the Bible for so much has been written concerning not trusting in your flesh [understanding], not hoping in the things you see or heard on the news casts, and not focusing on the things that money can buy or education can dish out. Proverbs 3:5 (AMP) Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

That pretty much sums it up. To go another way, you will find yourself at enmity with God and all that He proposes and instructs. We need to plant our feet on solid ground, have confidence in what He says and proposes, make it your only avenue for escape and freedom and surely, surely, surely you will see God show up in a very miraculous way and He will never disappoint or let you ‘hang’. I have spoken so many times in my construction career [going on 54 years] that the answer to all I have prayed is summed up in this one little phrase. “God is always last minute, but He is ‘NEVER’ late!
