"Noble"

1 Corinthians 1:26 (KJV) For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

1 Corinthians 1:26 (NLT2) Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you.

1 Corinthians 1:24 (MSG) But to us who are personally called by God himself—both Jews and Greeks—Christ is God's ultimate miracle and wisdom all wrapped up in one.

1 Corinthians 1:24 (BBE) But to those of God's selection, Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power and the wisdom of God.

Noble: A person of rank above a commoner; a nobleman; Great; elevated; dignified; being above everything that can dishonor reputation; Exalted; elevated; Magnificent; stately; splendid.

Greek: eugenes [yoog-en-ace]: nobleman [1], more noble [1], noble [1]. well born, i.e. (literal) high in rank, or (figurative) generous: - more noble, nobleman. Strong's Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. an adjective, lit., "well born" (eu, "well," and genos, "a family, race"), (a) signifies "noble," 1 Cor. 1:26; (b) is used with anthrōpos, "a man," i.e., "a nobleman," in Luke 19:12.            When a man reaches this stage of his life and has been exalted to a place of honor and success and dignification, he is a person that typically needs little if any instruction, training or education. He has hit what I call in my ‘Warrior Class’, NORMAL. Perhaps one of the most dangerous places for an individual to find himself.

Why would that be? After all this seems to be a place of utopia whereby a person can find a great deal of joy and peace. This is the biggest lie of the centuries. A place or position or level of accomplishment has never brought joy and peace. These are characteristics, gifts if you will, that come from the Holy Spirit, and not a single dollar, a single promotion, a single success in this life will ever give to you these two great qualities. They are not for sale, nor can they be earned in any way, shape or form.

This is the great danger, that a man who has reached this level of life feels he has attained all the qualities that one could muster up and has lost his perspective of who God is and what God has done for him and why God has done these things. In other words, he is not grateful for the One who has done it all and has so much more to give.

I see this every day in the marketplace of life. Men who have a successful business, a doctor who has learned to extract millions from the society, a welfare recipient who has reached a place of ‘normal’ and has decided to look no farther, he is content and happy. Still, with these folks we often, and I would say most of the time, see them not needing a Savior or a Needs Provider and have evolved to a state of ‘normal’. This is a place where one does not need God yet keeps him on the fringes of life where He will stay until an absolute crisis’s hits, such as a disease that is incurable. At this point they would run to Him and beg and plead for help, yet none is forthcoming for they were not Called. In other words, when the calling came, it was rejected and they just did not need Him in their life so on with their day they went and never considered Him for anything, for after all, they can do it on their own.

This situation is such a sad state of affairs, yet we see millions of folks dying without the born-again Savior experience or without knowing who this great Savior, Redeemer, Healer, Way Maker, Light in the Darkness, Righteous One, Lord of Peace and Joy, and Provider really is. There is only one way, and that is changing your goals, dreams, hope and expectations of life to the One who can direct your paths and give you the power and glory to accomplish great and mighty things, with ‘normal’ never being a part of the conversation. This places you in a position that you look back and truly be thankful for you know with a certainty that the ‘Way Maker’ has done these things for you for you were called to be Noble through Jesus Christ and His Kingdom and you demonstrated it through your thankfulness of getting you there.
