Greek: lambano [lam-bano’-o] = receive [133], take [106], have [3], catch [3], to take (in very many applications, literal and figurative [properly object or active, to get hold of; accept, + be amazed, assay, attain, bring, × when I call, catch, come on (× unto), + forget, have, hold, obtain, receive (× after), take (away, up). Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Denotes either "to take" or "to receive," (I) literally, (a) without an object, in contrast to asking, e.g., Matt. 7:8; Mark 11:24, Revised V, "have received" (the original has no object); (b) in contrast to giving, e.g., Matt. 10:8; Acts 20:35; (c) with objects, whether things, e.g., Mark 10:30; Luke 18:30 John 13:30; Acts 9:19, RV, "took" (AV, "received"); 1 Cor. 9:25, RV, "receive" (AV, "obtain"); or persons, e.g., John 6:21; John 13:20; John 16:14, RV, "take;" 2 John 1:10; in Mark 14:65, RV John 3:11; a hundredfold in this life, and eternal life in the world to come, Mark 10:30; mercy, Heb. 4:16, RV, "may receive" (AV, "may obtain"); Vine's Expository Dictionary of Old Testament and New Testament Words.
This idea of ‘received’ carries with it the other aspect of lambano which is ‘take’ and is a little different thought but they both have the same result, the spirit which is from God dwells inside.
This is a hard saying for so many in the Body of Christ in that they are not quite sure they have received the Spirit and if they know, they struggle with what you do with Him once one says they believe they have the Spirit.
Here is my point. If you believe you have God’s Spirit on the inside, and you believe that His Spirit was a part of the creation of all things, and you believe that Christ died for your sins, healing, prosperity and life and life more abundantly, then why do we spend so much of our time listening to the world, what is going on there and how they believe and respond to situations in life that is so much different then how a believer should respond.
If the news media says that the Covid Virus is going around and killing people, why do these folks respond to this and believe it in their hearts by fearful or intellectual responding. Does not the Word of God which is the Spirit of God and the wisdom of God, say that ‘no evil will come neigh your dwelling and so much more. Psalm 91:7-8 (KJV) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Perhaps the problem lies in the next verse and clarifies it repeatedly throughout the whole of Psalms 91. Psalm 91:9-10 (KJV) Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. The single most important point is man and unfortunately Christians, have not made the Lord their habitation but continues to leave Him in the world of convenience and security. These adjustments must be remedied if a believer is to enjoy all the benefits that Jesus offers to the Body of Christ. If you have received, then one must practice the believing by virtue of the Promises of God.
