Revealed: Discovered; disclosed; made known; laid open.

Greek: Apokalypto [ap-ok-al-oop’-to] reveal [26]. from (apo) and (kalupto); to take off the cover, i.e. disclose: - reveal. Strong's Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Usage Notes: signifies "to uncover, unveil" (apo, "from," kalyptō, "to cover"); both verbs are used in Matt. 10:26; in Luke 12:2, "The NT occurrences of this word fall under two heads, subjective and objective. The subjective use is that in which something is presented to the mind directly, as, (a) the meaning of the acts of God, Matt. 11:25; Luke 10:21; (b) the secret of the Person of the Lord Jesus, Matt. 16:17; John 12:38; (c) the character of God as Father, Matt. 11:27; Luke 10:22; (d) the will of God for the conduct of His children, Phil. 3:15; (e) the mind of God to the prophets of Israel, 1 Pet. 1:12, and of the Church, 1 Cor. 14:30; Eph. 3:5. "The objective use is that in which something is presented to the senses, sight or hearing, as, referring to the past, (f) the truth declared to men in the gospel, Rom. 1:17; 1 Cor. 2:10; Gal. 3:23; (g) the Person of Christ to Paul on the way to Damascus, Gal. 1:16; (h) thoughts before hidden in the heart, Luke 2:35; referring to the future, (i) the coming in glory of the Lord Jesus, Luke 17:30; (j) the salvation and glory that await the believer, Rom. 8:18; 1 Pet. 1:5; 1 Pet. 5:1; (k) the true value of service, 1 Cor. 3:13; (l) the wrath of God (at the Cross, against sin, and, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus, against the sinner), Rom. 1:18; (m) the Lawless One, 2 Thess. 2:3, 6, 8." * [* From Notes on Galatians, by Hogg and Vine, pp. 41,42.] Vine's Expository Dictionary of Old Testament and New Testament Words.

If I could explain to my readers the most common weakness in the body of Christ it would fall along the lines of communicating with the Father through the Holy Spirit. I just had an old friend stop by to enjoy a ‘Chili cookoff’ for the Warrior Class that meets on Thursday nights at 6:30. I favor time to get together with this group of gentlemen and am elated with their company and enthusiasm for the Word of God and how it can change and transform their lives into something that is meaningful and life enhancing.

This friend and I over coffee the next morning was discussing the idea of the modern church and where it was headed and how it got there. In the discussion I explained that the church has gotten respectable and has been ‘wooed’ into the idea of compromise and intellectualism. The desire to read and study the Word and to meditate on it has fallen by the wayside and what is left in this huge gap is nothing short of fantasy. Let me explain.

I have another friend who attends a certain denominational church and he was explaining to me how proud he was that all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were all sitting in a pew of this denomination and how proud he was of having all of them there and in the same row. When I asked him why he was so proud, he kind of stumbled and set back and explained, “because they were all there”. As I continued, I asked him this simple question. “You told me that the pastor taught about social issues and was not teaching the Word of God,” and in this discourse he agreed. Then I asked him why he could be so proud of this if the Word is not being delivered. The answer is simple and explained in these profound verses. Mark 7:13 (KJV) making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do." Mark 7:8 (AMP) You disregard and give up and ask to depart from you the commandment of God and cling to the tradition of men [keeping it carefully and faithfully]. Colossians 2:8 (KJV) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Mark 7:8 (NIV) You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men."  Make sure where you attend has the Manual of the Word of God at the forefront of all that is thought, said and done.
