Part 5 of 5

"Given"

1 Corinthians 2:12 (KJV) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

1 Corinthians 2:12 (NIV) We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

1 Corinthians 2:12 (ESV) Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.

1 Corinthians 2:12 (NLT2) And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.

Given: Bestowed; granted; conferred; imparted; admitted or supposed.

Greek: ways the Vine’s has used: Bestow, deliver, deliverance, deliverer, forgive, forgave, forgiveness, give.: charizomai [khar-id’-zom-ahee] forgive [11], give [6], freely give [2], deliver [2], grant [1], frankly forgive [1]. middle from (charis); to grant as a favor, i.e. gratuitously, in kindness, pardon or rescue: - deliver, (frankly) forgive, (freely) give, grant.

This is a ‘whole mouth full’ of ideas and is used with ‘freely’ to incorporate the magnitude of this word in the KJV. When the term ‘freely’ is attached to the ‘given’ aspect of this translation, it begins with the idea of forgiveness and then moves through the ‘whole garden’ or words that relate to us being blessed and in a position of blessing, whereby God bestows on us the amazing words of grace and deliverance.

Make no mistake about it, God has freely given us all things to enjoy, but the significant issue is, “do we receive all that the Father has so lavishly bestowed [charizomai] upon all those who believe. 1 Timothy 6:17 (NKJV) Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. I believe this same word could be carried over to medical practice, so called friends, your employer, bankers, the school system and the list go on. In short, Jesus is the one who sticks closer than a brother and He is the one who will never let you down.

The question is, does the Body of Christ feel this way concerning the precious and magnificent promises, or have they gone the way of the world and trusting all that is in the world. Have we laid our Bible down and declared that we can do it ourselves and has our actions already spoken this declaration.

God is looking for those who are willing to give it all, the same way He has promised us that He will do the same. If he has promised you anything, it is His responsibility to fulfill this and what is left in our court is to simply say, “we Trust You explicitly and we have no other God’s before you”. If it is going to be, You will make it happen and it is our job to read, study, and meditate the Word by day and night and to observe all that is written therein. Joshua 1:8 (NLT2) Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Joshua 1:8 (MSG) And don't for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you'll get where you're going; then you'll succeed.

I have yet to meet a believer who complains about the benefits of God and God’s role in this action, that when I ask them this scripture, they gave me an affirmative yes. God is alive, well and moving on planet earth and it is our responsibility to ‘jump’ into the middle of what He is doing and grab ahold of accomplishing our part in this ‘end time’ move that is going on, even as I am writing this letter. Get focused and get going and God will empower you to accomplish everything He has placed in your heart.
