Speaking

Part 2 of 2

"Saying"

Matthew 6:31 (NKJV) “Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?”

Matthew 6:31 (NASB77) "Do not be anxious then, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'With what shall we clothe ourselves?'

Matthew 6:31 (AMP) Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, what are we going to have to eat? Or what are we going to have to drink? Or what are we going to have to wear?

Matthew 6:31 (HCSB) So don’t worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’

Saying: assume something in order to work out what its consequences would be; make a hypothesis; used parenthetically to indicate that something is being suggested as possible or likely but not certain.

All through the Bible God is constantly speaking to us about our words. One scripture says take no thought saying the KJV and Matthew 12:37 (NIV)For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." We don’t take a lot of heed to these comments because we don’t get immediate reaction to what we say. Sometimes it takes years to get what we are speaking, negatively or positively. But none the less, it will come to pass for Jesus watches over His Word to perform it.

We take a lot of time to correct our children when they say something derogatory or non-constructive. Have you ever heard nobody likes me; I will never be as smart as so and so; I have no talent to play that instrument or play basketball, or soccer. You would stop your children in their tracts if you heard those words come out of their mouth. But when we get to be adults, we think we have passed on in the use of our tongue, in that I can get by with saying just about anything.

This is simply a lie from our adversary. He is prodding us daily to say something that will give him place in our life. He tricks us and persuades us to say things that are devastating to our health, our work, our relationships and any other thing that is very important to us. These words give him a foothold in the success of our life, mentally, physically, financially and socially. It destroys our families, our business decisions, our friends, our quality of life and even our bank accounts.

God simply wants us to speak what He speaks and do what He does for He has been a good example to us all through His Word. This is what you want for your children, be a good example. I heard most of my life, do what you know is right at all costs and you will always land on your feet’. Your children and employees and friends will honor you for having your words right and your actions following your words, to the positive. Whatsoever things are lovely, honest, just, pure and true; this is what we need to be thinking and speak to ourselves and others, throughout the day. We will follow in our actions the words that are coming out of our mouth. Luke 6:45 (KJV)A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Dream big, see big, and speak big. We serve a Big God. This is what He expects of us.
