Be Bold

Luke 11:8 (KJV) I say unto you, though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

Luke 11:8 (NLT2) But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence.

Luke 11:8 (AMP) I tell you, although he will not get up and supply him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his shameless persistence and insistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

Luke 11:8 (NIV2011) “I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity [boldness] he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.”

Importunity: Pressing solicitation; urgent request; application for a claim or favor, which is urged with troublesome frequency or pertinacity. Men are sometimes overcome by the importunity of their wives or children.

Greek: anaideia [an-ahee-die-ah’]. (as a negative particle [compare (aneu)]) and (aidos); impudence, i.e. (by implication) importunity. Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Importunity" (a, negative, n, euphonic, and aidōs, "shame, modesty"), and is used in the Lord's illustration concerning the need of earnestness and perseverance in prayer, Luke 11:8. If shameless persistence can obtain a boon from a neighbor, then certainly earnest prayer will receive our Father's answer. Vine's Expository Dictionary of Old Testament and New Testament Words.

God wants us to be as bold as a lion when it comes to our prayer life. This is a simple understanding of a more confusing question that came to Jesus. Jesus played no games when it came to identifying how you get your prayers answered. Vs. 9,10 defines the procedure and ultimately the process that moves God. Luke 11:9-10 (NLT) “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

First, we know that God wants us to pray bold prayers. During your prayer life, how many times does a voice speak to you and say,” God really doesn’t want you to have that; you are not good enough for God to answer those kind of prayers; don’t you realize you are a nobody; just look at your life, there is nothing there that makes you worthy; you simply are not qualified; you have to work for that; you have to ask that several weeks, months or years.” Does that sound familiar? Your enemy is the accuser of the brethren. This simply means that in a court room the attorney on the other side is constantly trying to prove that he is right and you are wrong. You must be determined in your heart that God is a good God and wants you to have what He has promised in His Word.

God wants us to be as bold and uncompromising and take our position of Sonship and use it for the Kingdom of God. I love to put it this way: ‘Use money to love people; don’t use people and love money’. Always have a God perspective in every endeavor and be His right arm. He will pour the wealth of the world into your lap, and you will be able to get a huge amount of things done that will be a blessing for all mankind.
