Heavens: The region or expanse which surrounds the earth, and which appears above and around us, like an immense arch or vault, in which the sun, moon and stars are seen. Among Christians, the part of space in which the omnipresent Jehoval is supposed to afford more sensible manifestations of his glory. Hence this is called the habitation of God and is represented as the residence of angels and blessed spirits. Deuteronomy 2:15the sanctified heart loves heaven for its purity and God for His goodness.
Hebrew: shamayim [shaw-mah’-yim]: heaven [398], air [21`], astrologers+[1]. shaw-meh'; from an unused root meaning to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher either where the celestial bodies revolve) :-air, x astrologer, heaven (-s). Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.
This is the most profound statement in the whole Bible. If you do not know what God is saying here, you will not be able to walk in the supernatural of God and will always be limited to the natural world and whatever it has to say or do in your life. This is the area that the true believer is to separate himself/herself from the world and its results and move into the realm of God where nothing is impossible to him who believes.
It is a great struggle in the mind to be able to look over into the world of the Spirit and see with the eyes of God the things that He has prepared for His children both in a place called heaven where the streets are paved with gold and a place called earth that was created in His image just as man was. Colossians 1:16 (KJV) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: It is clear that God has created and controls all things and these things belong to the believer for Christ paid the price to control once again the things on earth. Many a preaching has been done that says satin owns and controls this world, but Adam did not give up ownership because God never gave him ownership but management.
Satan was in control of the earth till Abraham and then Jesus yanked the whole thing from him when He refused to bough his knees at the mount of temptation. This is extremely important for the believer to get straight in his thinking for according to Colossians, Jesus now owns and controls it all because of Calvary and we are heirs with Him. We must get our thinking right and then we can appropriate faith to that amazing thought, it says that we can see God in the things that He has created. Romans 1:20 and John 1:3.
