Impossible

Mark 10:27 (KJV) And Jesus looking upon them saith, with men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Mark 10:27 (NIV) Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

Mark 10:27 (NLT2) Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”

Mark 10:27 (AMP) Jesus glanced around at them and said, with men [it is] impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.

Impossible: That cannot be. It is impossible that two and two should make five, or that a circle and a square make five, or that a circle and a square should be the same thing, or that a thing should be, and not be at the same time.

Greek: adynatos [ad-oo’-nat-os]: impossible[6], impotent[1], could not do[1], weak[1], not possible[1]: from a negative, and dynatos, "able, strong," is used (a) of persons, Acts 14:8, "impotent;" figuratively, Rom. 15:1, "weak;" (b) of things, "impossible," Matt. 19:26; Mark 10:27; Luke 18:27; Heb. 6:4, 18; Heb. 10:4; Heb. 11:6.            Jesus was having a discourse with His disciples over stewardship. Read the previous verses. He states to them that it is easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle that for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.

The first thing that must be understood here is what is the Kingdom of God. Well, there has been a lot of debate about this, but I do not believe He is talking about heaven. That comes from Grace through Faith which is a gift. Ephesians 2:8 (KJV)8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” If it was a matter of money, then everyone in the United States is not going to make it for it you live here, you are in the top 1% of the wealth of the world, even if you live under a bridge. Every American has running water, a stool, a warm meal and a roof over your head if you so choose. So, what is it. The Kingdom of God is the place where God is King, or maybe better said Jesus is Lord. That means He is in control of everything in your life, and money is the key principle here.

What are you doing with the finances that God has given you. Do you use it for prideful purposes or to make yourself better than someone else or do we see our wealth as a responsibility to God to be a good steward and to bless your fellow man? Often each of us has been spoken to by the Holy Spirit to do something with our resources that would be a blessing to someone, and we let the enemy talk us out of it. We find more excuses than “Carter has pills” to negate that still small voice that speaks to us about our money and its use. The Kingdom of God is the rule and reign of Christ in your life, and the disciples were confused about this.

They even commented to Jesus in Mark 10:26 (KJV) 26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, who then can be saved?” Jesus had spent much of his time talking about money and the use of it, so He was not against it but very much for it because of the things that you can do when you have the resources. Jesus was simply trying to instruct them that it is not the amount of money but the attitude towards it. Is it a god to you or are you willing to part with some of it for the Kingdom? The problem with lots of money is the trusting in it Mark 10:24 (KJV)24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

Money is not what we are to have our faith in. Does God meet your needs according to His riches or does your wealth and savings and investments. Don’t let money have you but always be in control of it and God will trust you with more. BE A GOOD STEWART AND GIVER.
