September kicked off the Season of Creation, a time set aside to celebrate care for all creation. The Season runs from September 1 to October 4, the Feast of St. Francis, the Patron Saint of Ecology.
According to their website, "The Season of Creation is an annual celebration of prayer and action to protect creation. It is celebrated by Christians of all traditions." The theme for 2019 is "the web of life", meant to emphasize that all creation comes from God and we play a part in it.
The Franciscan Sisters of Allegany have devoted a page on the Congregation's website to the Season of Creation. Within it, you will find prayers and celebration guides to help you recognize the Season. It can be
found here.
We are grateful to the members of our Franciscan-Clarian Spirituality Committee who have and will continue to send out resources and weekly reflections for this Season of Creation.
